Victoria’s Secret Diamonds After Dark Holiday 2012

Victoria’s Secret Diamonds After Dark is the second Holiday 2012 Collection that the brand has launched. Lately, these color collections from VS really fail to excite me.

Sadly, there aren’t as magical as they once were and Victoria’s Secret is also a tad guilty of releasing them a little too late in the season for my taste. Typically VS Makeup is a hit or miss situation anyway but I generally love their limited edition seasonal color collections.

However, as of late they have just been a tad uneventful for me. Le sigh.

Diamonds After Dark does so sadly fall into the less than brilliant realm for me.

You take a look and let me know if you love it.

Victoria’s Secret Diamonds After Dark Eye Shadow Duo $16 (LE)
Designed to create a custom eye look, the pigment-rich formula with satiny texture drapes lids in pure color and an alluring finish.

Shades:

  • Opulent
  • Gold Fusion
  • Jewel Thief

Victoria’s Secret Diamonds After Dark Shine Drama Lipgloss $12 (LE)
Luxurious, high-shine formula delivers the most lustrous lip color ever. Infused with moisture-rich aloe and argan oil for an ultra-soft, cushiony feel and a super smooth application.

Shades:

  • Sparkling Champagne
  • Bejeweled

Victoria’s Secret Diamonds After Dark Volume Lift Mascara $15
Multi-effect mascara amplifies lashes with major lift, length and volume.

Victoria’s Secret Diamonds After Dark Hypergloss Eye Shimmer $12
Cream shimmer and micro pigments for a multi-dimensional, jewel-like effect on eyes.

Victoria’s Secret Diamonds After Dark Luminous Blush/Highlighter $18
Unique press-blush glows with gorgeous highlights, creating the perfect combination for radiant color.

I think the packaging is stunning but the makeup is less exciting for me. I also feel like some of it is overpriced, I can’t see myself spending $16 on, what I’m assuming is, a mediocre eyeshadow duo….!

This collection is available now in stores as well as online.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I bought one of the hypergloss eye products when the fall collection released. I like it. It makes my eyes sparkle so much and it is not gritty or messy. I’ve been loving VS lipsticks lately but I doubt I will buy any of these items. The blush/highlighter looks nice tho.

I was impressed with the packaging in the promo picture at first, but now that I’ve taken a look at the makeup itself, I’m totally bummed out now 🙁

I really like the packaging but I just can’t make myself pick up anything from VS because I’ve heard such terrible things about quality. 🙁

Meh I like the packaging but I do think their make up is just meh. And these seem to be pretty over priced :/

I have sooo many good quality cosmetics that I can’t justify buying products of sub-par quality just for the packaging….even if that packaging is super cute. I would love to see more brands jump on the cute packaging band wagon though.

Not sure but to me it seems like they’re trying too hard. They should work on the formulas instead of the packaging.

the items were limited edition Brittany, they are no longer available. Victoria’s Secret isn’t making makeup anymore.
