Bare Minerals Hot to Trot Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss Set Review & Swatches
Here’s another of my favorite gloss sets for the Holiday season, Bare Minerals Hot to Trot Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss Set! This fabulous set contains six shades of Bare Minerals newest lipgloss, Marvelous Moxie in a gift set for a mere $25. This is one of two color variations that Bare Minerals released for Holiday 2012 and is one of the better gloss sets out there if you’re indulging for yourself or as a gift.
Take a look!
You get:
- Maverick
- Crowd Surfer
- Smooth Talker
- Firecracker
- Smarty Pants
- Dreamer
Each gloss is a generously sized 0.07 oz in size. Considering many Holiday gloss sets only give around 0.04 oz glosses, this is indeed a rather great deal. At $25 for the set you’re looking at around $4 per gloss, great value.
Now Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss is a tricky animal. When I first tried it I disliked it. I found out later that the gloss shade determines the wear of it. I find some shades are a bit patchy and uneven looking however, thankfully every single shade in the Hot to Trot Set was perfectly brilliant.

The glosses are thick, sticky, and have a long wear time. I think sticky is actually inaccurate, it’s more a tackiness which allows the gloss to adhere to lips and stay in place for up to five hours. The gloss formula wraps around lips and produces a plush, pouty look on lips with opaque to sheer coverage depending on the shade. This set contains a variety of sheer to medium color pay off shades.
A sponge applicator is the method of application which has a slight slant to it that allows you to saturated it well with color so a single swipe with yield shine and color onto lips.
Overall, I REALLY like this set. Marvelous Moxie is a gloss you have to give a chance to as I can easily see some dislike at first try as I experienced it myself. However, after using it, I actually really love it. For me, it seems to be all about the shade and Hot to Trot contains a nice mix of berry and nude shades that are all very wearable.
