Benefit Fine One One Review & Swatches

Benefit Fine One One is a sheer brightening color for cheeks & lips that I gave you a sneak peek of a few weeks ago. It recently launched for sale on Benefit’s website so I thought I’d review it for you now that it is available for purchase.

Take a look!

This looks like a little trial size deodorant stick as it has a swivel up design. The tri-color design features three shades of color which are pink champagne, sheer watermelon, and soft coral.

My lips aren’t crazy about this as the cream finish feels rather dry so I’d suggest for cheeks only unless you really like mod creams and don’t mind the dryness.

On my cheeks…it’s gorgeous. Although it seems like it might prove a chore to apply it actually blends out to a perfect orange-coral that’s very natural looking on my medium fair skin. It might prove a little sheer on darker skin tones but anyone with fair or medium skin will notice it creates a very nice glow of coral. The formula is creamy and easy to swipe on and blend out. I was worried I’d have stripes of pink and coral patchiness going on but the shades just meld together as you blend. I like how easily I can sheer it down to a natural peach or amp it up for more of a corally pop! You can build it easily without every over doing it.

Wear time is iffy but that’s the case for all cream blushes for me. Thank goodness it’s portable enough to take with me for touch ups. I get about two to three hours of wear before it disappears completely.

Overall, Benefit Fine One One is a little pricey at $30 but if you like cream blushes you might overlook that. The color is a nice healthy coral which should be suitable for many skin tones but darker ones might need to spend a little quality time with it and build it up for the best color pay off.

Benefit launched it this December on their website at www.benefitcosmetics.com

Will you be picking it up?

Oooooo, chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry all swirled into one. LOL 😀 No, but that sure makes a very pretty blush.

  • Saira

It looks Nice on you 🙂 what lipstick/gloss are you wearing.. It’s beautiful!

  • Mindy G

$30 for something with only a 2-3hour wear time…no thank you! I’ll stick with Tarte’s cheek stains for that price.

  • Jen

Wow, that’s so fascinating! It looks gorgeous on you, but I also want to get it just to play with it, LOL!

  • Jane

How did you apply it? Did you just swipe it on your cheeks as it was and them use a brush to blend? It looks absolutely lovely on you by the way.

    • the Muse

you’re very kind jane thanks! I just smiled big, swiped on the apples of my cheeks, and blended out with finger tips. No brush or anything like that. It’s fairly easy to apply, pretty foolproof! I’m heavy handed and I think I did ok with it. It kinda looks like a natural flush versus “I’m wearing blush! Look at me!”

  • Mariam

I would definitely mistake it for deodorant one sleepy morning and apply it under my arms LOL

    • Joanna

Haha I would mistake it for a deodorant as well. I love that it’s for both lips and cheeks 🙂

  • Sara Elisabeth

You do look beautiful with this on. Maybe Benefit will come out with a good set, and i’ll haul it then.

  • Emily

It’s really pretty and I have a real weakness for multi-use prooducts (i.e. lip/cheek). But I’m going to hold off for a while cause I have lots of other blushes I need to use up first XD

  • Cindy

Me and cream blushes don’t work well together. I’m oddly weirded out by the deodorant shaped packaging, that could easily end up under somebody’s armpits if they don’t pay attention!

  • Anne C

It’s cute! I’m not into cream blushes though but the packaging is really cute!

  • Alison

I always get directed to your site when I google for swatches! I was wondering if this is shimmery? What is the finish like? Dewy?

    Thanks!

    • the Muse

hi alison! dewy finish but seems to dry down as the day progresses for a smoother, satiny feel. no shimmer but does have a certain sheen and glow.

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! It looks great on you 🙂 ~

I honestly NEVER would have purchased a cream blush but I love every Benefit product I’ve ever used so I gave it a try and I absolutely adore it!

As far as the ‘pink champagne’ portion of the stick – have you used it alone as a highlighter?

    • the Muse

thanks alix you’re too kind…I haven’t used it along as a highlighter to be honest I swatch all three on and go 🙂

  • janine

I heard the Fine One One works better on bare skin though?… If used with foundation, should you apply the Fine One One over or under foundation? 🙂 Thanks! And the color really looks great on you!

    • the Muse

thanks janine 🙂 you can use it on bare skin or over under foundation, whichever you prefer…..!
