Butter London Rosie Lee Holiday Lips & Tips Gift Set Review & Swatches

Butter London Rosie Lee Holiday Lips & Tips Gift Set features a full size Butter London Nail Lacquer as well as a Butter London Lippy Lipgloss in the shade Rosie Lee for the Holidays.

Even though rose isn’t a color I commonly associate with the Holidays I couldn’t help but think of sparkling Christmas lights when I first saw this collection.

Take a look!

I purchased this set for my sister’s stocking but…I ended up keeping it. I’m awful I know. I couldn’t get passed the idea of the Lippy shade in the collection and REALLY wanted it for my very own.

Now I shouldn’t have craved it much because my experience with Lippy Lipgloss hasn’t be the greatest. The formula rocked it hard but oh god the taste…mmmmm! It was difficult to getting on board with this lipgloss as it had a very strong, perfumed fragrance and flavor that proved an awful gloss experience.

Bless be! Either they reformulated the gloss or perhaps just the Holiday Lips & Tips Set have a new formula because the perfume flavor and fragrance has been replaced with a cake batter-like flavor that’s completely tolerable and even pleasant. Butter London calls it a vanilla flavor but for me it tastes like yellow cake batter nom!

Also new is the sparkling finish versus all the creams originally launched. Rosie Lee is sheer rose shimmer that gives lips a pleasant tinge of pink with a hint of lovely sparkle. The formula is a bit thinner than the original Lippy Gloss I tried but still hugs lips in a pleasant lip plumping way. There’s a sponge tip applicator for application and a single swipe yields a lovely sparkle and hint of color on lips with a plush, fuller look when applied in a single application. The gloss is comfortable with a slight stickiness that allows it to wear close to four hours.

The Nail Lacquer that matches this shade is a deeper rose shade with full sparkle. I used it on my toes this week during my pedicure and love how sparkly it looks. I swear my toes look like little Christmas lights! Very cute color and completely wearable well after the season is over.

I purchased the set at Nordstrom for $25 but Butter London offers it for $19 on their website at www.butterlondon.com

Don’t love Rosie Lee? Pick from other Holiday Lips & Tips Set that Butter London is offering for a limited time this Holiday Season. They have a rather fabulous festive red set I must get my hands on!

I purchased this item.

I love the colors, but how does the polish apply? The one time I tried their polishes, I couldn’t get even coverage to save my life.

The nail polish looks fab but the lip shade is too light for me. I have been really curious about this brand though. I see it all of the time on the Nordstrom site & @ Ulta. I may have to give it a shot. Thanks Muse.

I don’t think a toe shot would be weird at all. C’mon we wanna see! PAH-lease?
The Lippy looks pretty but that blue headband lights up your entire face; great color on you!
