Chanel Frivole Joues Contraste Blush Review & Swatches
Chanel Joues Contraste Blush in Frivole will be launched with the Chanel Spring 2013 Precieux de Printemps de Chanel Collection.
At a glance it’s an intimating shade of orange but is described as a apricot by Chanel. For me, it’s orange, I’m not getting the apricot. Considering I have this unusual obsession with orange makeup, even though I can’t wear it, I was intrigued by the shade.
Take a look!
Although it looks like an unusual shade and even swatches as such I promise it applies like with a glow of Spring. It’s a rather warm shade for Spring but creates the perfect glow of peach on my cheeks.
I find it can be worn bold with some build up or sheered out for a more subtle flush. Blame it on the shade but it does blend out a little poorly if you aren’t careful. You’ll want to make sure you have your bushiest blusher brush available for application. Swipe it across the blush a few times, tap, tap, tap on your arm, smile and apply it on the apples of your cheeks with a light hand to avoid patchiness.
Depending on your skin tone it’ll reflect back as a variety of different shades. On me it goes delicately peach, on a darker friend of mine it was a most wonderful orange, and on a fairer than fair friend it went a tad pink. It seems the shade has a knack for being different on a variety of skin tones.
Don’t make the mistake of passing it up since it does look rather scary in the pan!
It’s a great color that will serve you well as we begin to shake off the winter and allow a bit of the Spring into our makeup routines. And yes, Spring, it’s around the corner my friends…!
Muse Approved.
