Covergirl + Olay Concealer Balm for Spring 2013

Covergirl + Olay Concealer Balm is a newly launched lipstick style concealer for Spring 2013. I didn’t have major success with the Covergirl + Olay Concealer in the pot that launched a few years ago, it was super dry for me.

This lipstick style packaging is so terribly retro I’m unsure how I feel about it.

I believe there are five shades total available. I picked up Medium out of morbid curiosity. Seriously, lipstick concealer is kinda my grandmother’s concealer from day’s of old so that alone makes me a little skeptical about the formula.

They promise a super easy glide with excellent coverage though so here’s hoping!

What do you think?

I’ll prob give it a shot. I hate that style of concealer as the shape of it is awkward to work with. I had great success with the concealer in a pot, it’s my everyday concealer actually so if its somewhat similar it will work great for me.

I think that this lippie type was my first concealer and hated it. as a noob, figured that all concealers sucked and didn’t use one for years! whatever foundation didn’t cover was free for the world to see.

I adore the one in the pot, although I did find it runs light- I wear the light/medium even with my pale winter skin, and I’m usually a “light”. I find it to be very creamy and pigmented.. just melts into my skin, and it lasts all day. Perhaps they updated the formula, I just started using it a couple of months ago.. or just a difference in our skin- but I have combo skin and tend to be really dry around my nose and this is one of the very few concealers I’ve found that do not dry me out even worse there, or cling to flakes.

I saw this the other day at Walgreens too…I almost bought it and could not talk myself into it. The word balm turned me off, made me think coverage might be an issue.

I’m just not a fan of the brand, for the most part; the nail polishes are okay, but the lippies & face products have just never worked for me. I used it quite a bit in the late 80s-early 90s, but that was because it was actually quite inexpensive back then (it was just a bit more than WnW), but now it’s up there with L’Oreal & PF. I just can’t bring myself to try anything… That said, if I hear a product is absolutely amazing, I may reconsider.

Hmmm that’s odd, their pot concealer is so creamy and nice for me and I have quite dry skin. It does tend to dry out fast tho, so u have to make sure u close the lid very tightly and store it upside down like Mac paint pots to keep it from drying out. I agree, this is such stupidly retro packaging. It makes me not even wanna try it at all.

I bought one the other day out of curiosity. It is a nice formula overall. It is very creamy and blends well. The only problem is that the colors all lean very yellow. I bought the shade “light” and it is almost too dark for under my eyes. Just keep that in mind when you are picking out a shade.

I bought this at Ulta a few weeks ago…i actually like it for under eyes, it has a fairly nice glide. It’s crap on zits and stuff, but it’s good for minor discoloration/faint acne scarring. It’s not life changing or anything though, lol. I’ll be curious to see your review

I wasn’t really impressed with the undereye concealer in the pot – it was just OK (product actually dried out over time and shrunk in the pot). I will try this because I am a serious concealer addict and I totally don’t mind the old school stick formula – the purple and silver packaging at least seem a little bit modern. I really surprised myself by liking the Tone Rehab Foundation & the new matching Covergirl + Olay Powder – so maybe I will like this as well? My only concern is that on almost every Covergirl product that I’ve owned that has a clear plastic cap, the plastic is cheap and cracks, chips and breaks easily. Then you are left with a damaged and exposed product. They need to improve the quality of some of their packaging.
