Lush Emotional Brilliance Cream Eyeshadow Review & Swatches
Anyone try Lush Cream Eyeshadow as of yet? Lush launched their Emotional Brilliance Cream Eyeshadows a few short months ago but this is the first time I’ve gotten a chance to check out the formula. I tried the liquid lipstick so far and the eyeliner but not the shadow.
I love cream eyeshadows so was quite excited about this launch.

Lush Emotional Brilliance Makeup is a collection featuring over 30 products for lips, face and eyes in a vegan friendly formula. This makeup collection was launched based on your mood or state of mind versus the current color trends. Lush allows you to personalize your makeup experience with spontaneously selected shades you can choose by using their Spin the Wheel discovery game online or in store. It’s all about an expression of your mood versus following a certain trend.
Lush Cream Eyeshadow is available in sixteeen shades for $18.95 each. It may seem a hefty price tag but they actually house 0.17 oz of product so you are getting quite a good deal of product for your buck here.
The formula is a thick, creamy, dense eyeshadow that’s very pigmented and produces excellent true to color pay off on lids. Oily eyes will love the formula has it does have a certain mattifying feel when applied. I find the formula a touch challenging to work with since it has a rather quick dry down time. However, with a little care, attention, and patience you can easily build it up to a very fine finish. The formula seems to have issues blending out due to the quick dry down however, it produces a cream to powder finish that’s quite smooth and long lasting on my lids. The strong pigmentation is excellent and has me curious to explore other shades as I didn’t really love the shade I tried, Wise, reminds me of pea soap and wasn’t entirely flattering on my eyes.
The base of the shadow is a soothing rose petal infusion with skin softening agents like almond and jojoba oils. They feel quite mattifying on my lids to the point of being drier in texture on dry down. The formula hugs my lid like a second skin and wore true to color all day without creasing or fading (For reference, my lids are drier so results might vary for oily skin but I think you should be ok with this formula as it does have mattifying qualities).
Overall, I am curious about other shades but the application was a bit tricky for me and when I’m rushing in the morning it isn’t something I can be bothered with. However, when I do have a little time and patience to apply, I’d say the formula was quite impressive on a whole and worthy of a check out if you like cream shadows, particularly ones with this much pigment!
