Lush Forum Fragrance Round Holiday 2012

Lush Rose Jam Gorilla Perfume Lush Yuzu

I missed out on the announcement for the Lush Forum Fragrance Round for Holiday 2012. You can thank reader, Shirl, who commented about it otherwise I wouldn’t have known as I haven’t been on the Lush UK forum in a while!

Here’s a few more details!

Every year Lush does a special forum fragrance round for members of the forum. In recent years they have extended to the US and also included it as a website purchase (it used to be that you had to call to order but last year I ordered online easily!).

The fragrances that will be made this year are:

  • Rose Jam (Price: 25 Pounds)
  • Comforter (20 Pounds)
  • Twilight (25 Pounds)
  • Big (22 Pounds)
  • Cream Candy (18 Pounds)
  • Snowcake (22 Pounds)

These have all been made before however, if you never purchased from a Lush Forum Fragrance round it’s a good excuse to haul them. Yes, they smell like their namesakes. Yes, they are strong, have excellent linger, and are well worth the $$$! Yes, Snowcake is damn awesome as a perfume.

If you have a Lush lover in your life this would be a mighty nice way to surprise them with something special! The party for the fragrances will be December 7th.

I have no idea if the US plans on doing a fragrance collection this year as well. Possibly they will so if you want to hold out and wait for news from Lush NA I’ll try to bring it to you as it becomes available, no guarantees it’ll happen though!

For more details you can visit the Lush forum at forum.lush.co.uk

I just got the email about this…sooooo excited as I just got into Snowcake soap last year and totally missed the perfume! Now’s my chance to get it! Glad to hear it smells great in perfume form. Do you happen to know how Rose Jam or Creamy Candy are? Thanks!!

    • 12/5/12 16:55 the Muse:

rose jam I got last year and it is STRONG. Very nice but a little too strong as a perfume. It’s kinda candied rose. It goes a wee bit car air freshener on me. Creamy Candy is like candy fluff/rock star soap/snow fairy-ish. That typically Lush Candy Fluff scent ;-D I have about 8 bottles of snow cake *hangs head* but I still want to grab two more JUST in case. Oh the shame!

Oh, that feels great, I have about the same amount of snowcake and I felt a bit guilty but I just cannot live without it. :)

I love rose jam so I think it’s time I buy the perfume. Is it worth the risk of waiting to see if it shows up on NA or would you if you were me and LOVE rose jam go ahead and order from the uk one?

That’s the problem, no one is really sure of that yet, if you manage to get on the forum then there’s someone organizing a decanting circle to buy small amounts of the perfume, it’s on the swap thread

  • 12/6/12 9:13 Zora:

Ohhh finally! After two years as a perfume-loving Lushie, I’m getting the announcement for the UK forum party beforehand! Can’t wait to order Big and Comforter! Two of my favourite product scents :)

Do you have Big? Does it have that amazing scent that Big has when it lathers, or smell more like it does in the pot?

Also, will the link to purchase these be posted on the main UK site? Because I’ve never been able to register at the forum and last time I checked I couldn’t view it at all.

hi zora. How are you? I do. It smells more like ocean salt/big in the pot. Kinda ocean salt/lime. :) I dunno. So far it is announced on the forum. Last year they were available through the website but every other year it’s been calling the order in. I don’t have any other info as of yet. I imagine the party started already so you might want to call already to place the order or perhaps twitter/facebook!

Hi! Thank you! Online as in on the main site? I hope that’s what they meant! I’ll check first thing tomorrow. :)

You don’t sound very excited about the Big scent, haha, so I won’t get my hopes up to be blown away by it. But I know I’ll have to order it anyway! I have little self-control when it comes to Lush perfume XD

Though I do wish I were more of a Snowcake or candy scent fan, so I’d have more to be excited about this year, at least this means I won’t have to go broke like I did with Lush NA’s LE perfumes last Christmas! I totally freaked out and ordered duplicates of everything, and now I have enough Twilight, Silky, American Cream, Y&C and Olive Branch to last me ’til death. (Lol and obviously you can relate!)

that’s what they told me :) and forums specials/le will be listed on the forum during the party. No, I actually love it ;-D I just kinda wish they did something I don’t already have tons of hehe ;-D you’ll like it! I think it’s lovely ;-D true to Big scent. I TOTES know what you mean ;-D I have SO many bottles of them over the course of ten years I’ve collected many!

Omg, 10 years! I’m afraid of what my perfume collection might look like in 10 years!

But in that case, I have another question for you: do you find that the Lush perfumes actually expire when they say they will? All of my bottles have expiration dates, and my local Lush store actually sold me what I’m pretty sure is an expired bottle of Tuca Tuca last year (they took the sticker off, so sneaky), but having only smelled the solid Tuca in comparison, I can’t tell if it smells different than it should or not. It’s different from the solid, but it still seems okay to me… I think.

But either way, with a collection like mine (and at the prices they charge for just 1 oz!), it’d be nice to know that my perfumes will be safe for a good long while… what do you think? How long do you find they last until they start to smell weird?

          • 12/6/12 10:23 the Muse:

I have like ten bottle of snowcake lol! and still want more. it’s a disease ;-D no not really…I’ve seriously had a bottle of ginger for like 12 years and it still smells incredible….they do change color slightly sometimes which isn’t good as they can stain clothes sometimes. I’ve never had an issue. I can’t speak for Gorilla of course as that’s still very new but the forum fragrances are still fresh for me and smell as strong as the day I originally purchased them. I stock piled ginger when it dc’ed and it still smells as amazing as the first day I purchased. no weird smells yet thankfully ;-D one thing, I do store them in a box, in a dark closet, this def helps!

  • 12/6/12 10:35 Zora:

It really is a disease, isn’t it?! Heh. As much as I adore Lush and as much as discovering their products changed my life, I sometimes kinda wish I had remained oblivious to their fantastic-smelling and amazing EVERYTHING. I used to be able to save money! XD

Ahh, but you know it’s all worth it when you get out of your Lush bath/shower, slather yourself in Lush products, mist yourself with Lush perfume and get to smell incredible all day… right? :) Thanks so much for answering all of my questions!
