About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I actually really enjoy the ad for this line!
While I’ll never be able to afford MAC, this is definitely a collection I’d swatch in stores 🙂

    • the Muse

already did a review and some swatches karrie of two of the quads, link is in the post, hope this helps.

          • Christine

I think Kandi’s referring to the link to your review/swatches of the e/s quads you said was embedded in this post … I can’t find it, either …

          • the Muse

oh jeez sorry. I’m tired and yak today I thought she was talking about the loreal quads sorry about that kandi/christine!

  • SJ

I love the advertisement for this! I just wish I could tell whether or not that’s a liberal use of the liquify tool or not…

    • Saffron

As a lady bodybuilder, I love the ad as well, but I’m confident there’s been a lot of ‘shop used here. Her skin is too smooth for someone with bodyfat that low, and her waist is too small for someone who otherwise has so much mass. She also appears to have no traps. I’m guessing they just full on pasted the model’s head onto someone else’s body parts.

      • Ruth

thanks for pointing out that her waist was off. I kept looking at the pic and something bothered me but couldn’t put my finger on it. first thoughts that it was the trash bag dress but it’s the arms/face/waist imbalance.

  • Shamim de Varax

the lippies and powder blushes look interesting here for my skintone. would love to see swatches =D

  • Caitlin

Okay, that ad is kicking some serious butt. That is killer. The makeup isn’t calling me, but I’m not a matte lippie girl and I’m a little exhausted from holiday buying right now.

  • Christina

I love this ad! I am a bodybuilder and train heavy on a daily basis, and I always say that the only “girlie” thing I enjoy is make-up! After swearing off department store make-up all these years, this ad almost tempts me enough to shell out the extra money. Way cool!

  • Danielle

Those arms are crazy fake (and pretty scary cause that model looks tiny!) Pretty sure those shoulders, arms and hands aren’t hers!

  • Shelby

Party Parrot! Anyone know if this will be available at counters as well, not just the stand alone stores? My counter didn’t have the Iris Apfel collection

  • Felis

The model was commenting on another blog – that’s actually her, not `shopped. Even her waist is that small.

That black lipstick is mine MINE MIIINE if it’s not too sheer.

  • Anna

So I went to two Mac stores today and I was told this collection wont be out in stores until January 3rd. I also went to Nordstroms and they confirmed that they will also have this collection on the 3rd… sigh I am such a want it now kinda girl. Any one heard anything otherwise?
