Mally Beauty Holiday Slimline Lip Gloss Library Review & Swatches

Mally Beauty Holiday 2012 Slimline Lip Gloss Library

I HAVE tons of gloss set favs this year but hands down, the best one I tried is the Mally Holiday 10 Piece Slimline Lipgloss Library. Please, for the love of beauty, GET it.

You NEED this.

Mally Beauty Holiday Slimline Lip Gloss Library

It’s strange that I don’t have more Mally Liquid Lipsticks in my life as they are some of the best lipstick slash lipgloss hybrid formula around. This fabulous set comes in a flip top faux croc box with ten shades of Mally Beauty Liquid Lipsticks in 0.04 oz pens with attached brush applicators.

Twist the base and swipe across lips for shiny, opaque color that offers the coverage of a lipstick but the shine and glossiness of a lipgloss.

These have a thick yet plush texture that hugs lips and wears lightweight and comfortably for up to four to five hours. The formula has the slickness of a gloss with a shiny finish and the shades vary in pigmentation from medium to full out color coverage depending on which color you choose to use. Unlike other liquid lipsticks I own and tried in the past these aren’t creamy or matte. The formula wears like a full color lipgloss which is rarity in the gloss world as many glosses are sheer. They glide across lips and leave behind a smooth finish without feeling heavy, overly tacky, or uncomfortable.

Sweet Berry and Starburst

The shades lean towards more berries and pinks but there are a few natural shades as well. For me I felt like about 75% of the colors had an MLBB finish (my lips but WAY better). I kinda wished they had some sort of secondary set that contained more nudes, peaches, and corals as this is a killer deal. At $44 you’re looking at $4.40 per gloss. That’s a deal. I’d recommend this over Stila’s Lipglaze Set as I love the formula that much. There are PLENTY of Holiday Gloss Sets to choose from this year but none of them have the quality of this particularly set.

Shades Include:

  • Supernatural
  • Blossom
  • Pouty Pink
  • Starburst
  • Perfois Pink
  • Orchid
  • Summer Peach
  • Heartbreaker
  • Fuzzy Navel
  • Sweet Berry

Overall, I can’t rave, recommend, and approve this enough. It’s a killer deal with an amazing lipgloss formula that’s sure to please. Loves it and hope that next year Mally will introduce another set with new shades.

Great deal, great product, awesomeness all around.

    Hi Muse,

I actually just got this set in the mail last night… So happy to see you give it a positive review =). I also ordered the Mally’s Favorite Things Vol. 2 TSV and I’m now thinking maybe I should order a back-up of this set too ;)…

Also, wanted to ask you if you had any issues with your Mally automatic eyeliners from the Holiday set? Alot of people are complaining on QVC that they are defective and will not advance up. I really want to order the set, but I already purchase UD Ocho Loco and Smoked eyeliner sets so I don’t really need Mally’s if they are defective =(.

excellent picks nina! you’re going to LOVE both sets ;D are you gifting the fav things or keeping ;-D

I haven’t tried them yet tbh! I was going to review this week but didn’t get a chance. If you already have ocho loco and smoked, I’d save my $$ who needs that many eyeliners eh? ;D

No gifting… They are all for me. Lol… I know I don’t NEED any more eyeliners, but I can’t help WANTING more eyeliners. I have a serious problem collecting eyeshadow palettes and lip gloss/eyeliner sets… I may not use them, but I must have them =)~…. However, I just saw your post about the Too Faced Spring Collection and I have moved on from Mally to wanting the new Too Faced eyeshadow palette and heart shaped blush now…. Your website is terible for my wallet. Lol.

P.S. I hope you feel better soon!!!

Thanks! I had a little sore throat yesterday but it developed now I feel worst! Hope it goes away by xmas.

Those brush lip applicators drive me loco, but those colors are so pigmented and varied, I just might have to buy. Why does the Q keep doing this to me? I was debating on a Josie Maran lip set, but this one looks better.

Heartbreaker looks insanely pretty on you, great pop of holiday color!

As always, thanks for the review

Arg! I just discovered Stila lipglazes and I luuuurve them. These are better? Are they as long lasting? I actually like the sticky staying power of the lipglazes. If these are similar, I may put them on my list, too, though. Great colors.

sure are caitlin. the colors are way more pigmented so they are kinda a hybrid liquid lipstick/gloss and yup great staying power, addressed it all in the review ;-D
