About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I am so buying this set and the Tarte TSV (Auto delivery for both)… Thanks again for the early info … There are so many beauty kits that I have ordered after seeing them on here… Especially from brands that I would have never tried on my own, such as, It Cosmetics and Mally. =)

    • CC

It looks so great. As soon as I get the item # for Tarte TSV, Im ordering it! I need to see a pic of that too. Enjoy your kits and Muse-thank you!

      • the Muse

the tarte tsv has an item number on my post cc hope this helps! my pleasure ;-D <3!

  • Tammie

Does this come out in Jan/we have to pay for it in Jan? I want to try it but I seriously have no money to do so at the moment…

    • the Muse

they day you order is the day they charge. It comes out January 12th so anytime between now and that date you can order it but the day you do order you’ll be charged. Hope that makes sense ;-D after Jan 12, obviously won’t be same price!

      • Tammie

I hope it won’t go out of stock like the IT Cosmetics stuff I wanted :X.

Another (annoying) question, if you do auto-delivery are the ones that come later the same price as the initial one or more expensive/normal price?

          • Tammie

            Thanks! Hopefully it’s in stock when I have some money then…also I hope the powder isn’t too shimmery…I have to return the covergirl&olay powder I got yesterday because I tried it today and HOLY CANNOLI shimmer city ;_;

          • the Muse

ugh sorry to hear it chica…! QVC does have excellent return policy even on used makeup! so that’s one plus ;-D I hope it is still in stock but I really don’t think you’ll have issues with this one, it will prob be there! 😀

          • Tammie

Yeah it sucks because otherwise I quite like this powder…maybe the Covergirl Clean powder or whatever lacks the sparkle >.> I’m using the powder over the Maybelline “””””BB Cream””””” and it gives just the right natural look that tones down the redness/freckles enough to make my skin look nice~.

As for QVC that’s good to hear about their return policy…I am very very wary of buying makeup from places with a bad return policy since my skin is SO picky. I guess Mally isn’t as crazy as the “Sephora brands” like Tarte etc. huh. I remember I wanted the BE set with the cake liner duo but that was also sold out quickly 😡

          • the Muse

sigh I wish I could wear more powder but it makes my skin look crazy dry 🙁 How do you like dream bb cream? Quite disappointing as a bb Cream but the formula is lovely as a tm! yeah, they are awesome, quick refund even if you use it. they give you 30 days. ;-D Mally’s popular but I suspect many of these items will be in stock as it is January and everyone is recovering from the holidays ;-D

          • Tammie

I have to wear powder or my makeup will just melt off @_@. Though I want to try my new Covergirl foundation (their new 3-in-1 one) without powder over the weekend to see how it performs.
It’s not even close to a BB cream like you said, but luckily I knew that going into it and I got it because I wanted a tinted moisturizer. It’s super duper sheer but it covers the red enough and wears well under powder (I was pretty shocked). Perfect for weekend wear, which is what I got it for 🙂

    • the Muse

state of the art finisher that helps to minimize pores, even skin tone and create radiance this precious powder helps skin to look and feel incredible…that’s what it says in my insider…but that’s really vague ;-D

      • Tammie

I am a little worried it’s shimmery with the “radiance” and “diamond” >.>

      • Cj

Yay for super vague descriptions… I guess we should be lucky they didn’t write “It’s a powder… but not!” 😛

        • the Muse

LOL ;-D sorries. PS Happiest Holidays my dear. I’m sorry I’ve been remiss lately saying hey, just been SWAMPED! I hope Santa brings you your entire wish list!

          • Cj

No worries : P this time of year is always super busy for everyone. I hope you have an amazing Christmas <3 🙂

          • the Muse

tell me about it. I was sick a few days so it put me way behind thank god for awesome antibiotics ;-D I hope the same for you my dear! <3!

  • Kim

I’ve been loving Mally’s items lately. I’m going to order this and I thinking I may order the Tarte one too.

  • Laura

I think I’m the only person on the planet that dislikes Mally’s mascara! I’m on the fence with this

  • Jen

No offense Muse, but I do not think it is fair that you are posting the item numbers. There have been a ton of complaints on QVC’s forums and other forums about Insider posting the item numbers for people who don’t pay the money to get it and then the preorders sell out. Just something to think about. I love your blog, but do not agree with you doing this.

    • the Muse

I had no idea it was such an issue Jen I don’t read the qvc forums. I never noticed the sets selling out until the actual day of the sale…most times they remain in stock until the actual day of the sale, for example the Tarte Holiday Set sold out towards mid-day on the day it officially launched.

      • the Muse

just edited the posts to not display the item number. thanks for the deets jen. wouldn’t have known it was an issue on the forum if you hadn’t told me!

        • Jen

I hope I did not sound nasty when I left the comment Muse. I love and respect your blog, but I am usually on the QVC beauty blog, handbag blog, etc and women were blocked for giving out item numbers to others and people are ripping other’s heads off because pre orders sell out. I just wanted to let you know and appreciate greatly you taking it down.

          • the Muse

hey jen. I didn’t even know about any of this to be honest. Thanks for telling me! I’ll def keep it in mind for the future. You didn’t sound nasty at all, I appreciate the info because I didn’t honestly know about it causing so much chaos eep!

        • Dianne

It’s already up on the QVC website, so I don’t think you broke any rules at all!!! Just saying…Love your reviews I check everyday but have never commented before…

          • the Muse

thanks dianne so glad you enjoy musings ;-D I figure I’d remove it before it caused any issues/probs ;-D I’ll put it back up again next week!

  • Hamster

Oh gosh…this looks deliciously tempting (even though I just got the most recent Mally TSV)! But seriously, you had me at Under Eye Brightener. I’m such a sucker for those things!

  • Donna

Miss Muse, you got me onto Mally and I’m loving all I’ve tried! Gotta have this awesome set!! 🙂

    • the Muse

yay donna ;-D so glad you discovered the joys of Mally Beauty ;-D she really has some awesome stuff, did you ever try her concealer duo? loves it. Enjoy the set! I’m still debating if I need ;-D Happy Holidays!

  • Laurie

I bet that un-powder is a tinted face defender. If it can sub for a primer, light foundation and doesn’t make me shinier than I already am I’m all over it. I loved the original face defender until my compact snapped in two and it got all grimy from getting banged around in my bag. I’m back to pressed powder but it’s not thrilling me.

  • Boone

I wish they gave you an option to buy the kit without the foundation/powder product at a reduced price. I’d totally pay $40 for the rest of the kit (even though I’m not a huge fan of the mascara), but I’m not going to shell out another $20 for the privilege of receiving a prouct that I don’t want and can’t use. I haaaaate how QVC always includes a foundation/powder item in their beauty kits, but that’s where all of their mark-up is.

I guess I’ll be trolling the Bay for bits and pieces next month, rather than giving my money to Mally/QVC. 🙁

  • Anneen

I’ve never tried Mally’s makeup and want to get the TSV. I wear medium beige in BE foundation, do you know if I should get the fair/light or medium shade of the un-powder? its hard to really see the color on TV. Thanks!

  • VivianS

I received as part of the kit, the unpowder “deep tan” That does not seem to be deep enough for the average dark complexion. Just because of that, I am thonking to return the kit. Is there anyone with dark complexion who is presently using it and not complaining of a ghastly look, especially in pictures?
