Maybelline Clean Express Classic Eye Makeup Remover Review
I’ve already reviewed the new Maybelline Clean Express Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover and today we’ll take a look at the new Maybelline Clean Express Classic Eye Makeup Remover. These are the two newest eye makeup removers that Maybelline has introduced for Spring 2013. Each bottle is 4 oz in size with an affordable $5.99 price tag.
Let’s take a look!
Maybelline Clean Express Classic Eye Makeup Remover is something you’ll want to turn to if you wear lighter makeup and non waterproof mascara or fiber/tubing mascara. It’s a cool thick gel texture which glides across lids easily breaking up shadow and mascara and allowing it to be whisked easily away.
I typically wear waterproof mascara and this did an ok job removing it with some minor left overs that my cleansing oil removed but I’d personally head into a purchase of the Clean Express Waterproof version for the best results at removing heavier eye makeup. I’d recommend the Classic formula for lighter eye makeup.
As I mentioned I tried it with waterproof mascara as well as heavier pigmented eyeshadow. It removed the eyeshadow easily and most of my mascara with minor clean up after. I also tried it with tubing and fiber mascaras and both times it performed very well at breaking down fibers and tubes and whisking them away easily. Of course, water works just as well on such a mascara formula but if you’re wearing eyeshadow along with it I think it’s easier to just reach for this remover and whisk it all away in one simple step.
The thick gel texture is water based so it has a hydrating feel on lids and doesn’t leave them dry after use. There isn’t any issues with cloudy vision of fuzziness either. It has a strong yet pleasant fresh scent which may or may not irritate sensitive users so you might want to sneak a sniff in before purchasing while at your local drugstore.
I enjoyed the Clean Express Waterproof formula a bit more than this simply because I wear heavier eye makeup. However, on occasion I do a quick cream shadow and some regular mascara or a quick color wash with a light shadow and in that case this is perfect for quick clean ups. Lighter makeup users should love all over it.
It’ll be available starting in January at all major drugstores.
