MUA Makeup Academy Love Heart Lip Balm Review & Swatches
Love Heart Lip Balm is a cute little 2 potted lip balm slash lip gloss from British brand MUA Makeup Academy. Available in six shades each little pot is like a conversation heart for V-Day featuring cute little sayings on the cover like “Hot Lips” or “Sweet Kiss”.
Each pot ranges out at around $3 dollars and change but I got it far half off thanks to a recent Facebook Sale. Actually they have a great deal right now for 40% Off your total should you want to grab some goodies as they do ship to the US.
Let’s take a look at the Love Heart Lip Balm!
I dunno how many folks remember Lancome’s Juicy Gelee but these little gloss pots remind me of those. Each pot contains a whooping 10 g of product which makes these are rather excellent beauty budget pick even with shipping included.
Now…..the pot design is an obvious magnet for bacteria. I’m not particularly keen on dipping my finger into lip products for application. If you can get passed the flawed design you might just love the formula.
It’s actually a pigmented balm (Hot Lips is a bright pink which I’m wearing sheered out below. I had to sheer out as it was a bit TOO bright for me.) that gives lovely lasting color. Although they market it as a balm it’s more of a gloss formula as it has an emollient texture with a high shiny finish and a lightweight texture that hugs lips and gives them a pouty appearance. Wear time will vary depending how much you apply…too little seems to last decently well but too much seems to migrate around my lip line a fair bit which results in a shorter wear time. The lightweight texture is an absolute joy on my lips since it has a nice moisturizing feel during the wear and the gorgeous shine factor is a complete plus.
Overall, this is a cute little gloss pot well worth indulging in. The pot packaging is a bit on the meh side…a tube would be easier to travel with and less worrisome….if you can get passed the packaging you’re in for a treat as no one would even guess you paid $3 bucks for it as it has the quality of a much higher costing lip balm/gloss.
Loves it.
