But seriously, has anyone tried the foundation? Thoughts??

It’s full coverage, best for oily skin and the colors run light (unless they’ve tweaked them for this launch). Fair is too white for me and I’m ghostly. I had to give it to my teen who loves it but she has to sheer it out with moisturizer. On me it settled into every little line on my 42 year face and made me look old in the sunlight and I wasn’t able to smooth it out of the lines once it dried. I used the big brush (which I love with my other foundations by Loreal and Mally) as well as my fingers to blend it out. I was horrified but it could’ve been caused by the too light color match. Many people love this, including my kid, but if I buy this I’m giving the foundation to my daughter.

I used to use this foundation all the time. I switched to Too Faced Beauty balm and IT cosmetics this summer but had a tube still in reserve. I was helping a friend pick out foundation and tried it again – I forgot just how much I like this foundation WITH the brush.

It is full coverage – I put it on my fingers, smear them together and pat the foundation all over my face, then I take the big fluffy brush (dry) and just buff lightly all over until it’s blended. I find if you use too much it can settle but if used sparingly and buffed out it seems to set and stay. I have normal skin, a little dryer in the winter but I don’t find this foundation to dry me out at all.

I have light/medium skin with yellow undertones and find that the medium is just about perfect. I do have a tube of the light to mix in when I’m really pale but I don’t have to mess with that very often. In the summer I just go a little heavier with bronzer.

I hope you like the foundation if you get the kit.

      • 12/19/12 17:12 Ruth:

@Majick thanks for the description of medium, it sounds like we have the same skin tone and i’ve been waffeling between medium and the next lighter shade. Thought if it was too light, a bit of bronzer could fix the too light color.

Glad I could help, and remember you can always change the color of the second shipment if you wanted to mix colors. That is what I did the last TSV that I got.

thanks, I didn’t know that the shade could be changed once you started the orders. now, the touch of reluctance is lost along with my determination of starting a “no buy” in regards to make up. my will is weak (aka-non existant =D )

QVC does ship to Canada, but only until the end of this year, for some reason they have decided that they won`t ship to Canada after dec.31, 2012……so I bought this and on easy pay to boot…yeah! But sad I won`t be able to get the awesome deals on QVC now )O:

ugh, why can’t the tsv have the light-medium or the Ivory shades for the girls w/ pink undertones. I love this foundation but the Light is a tad too yellow for me.

Even though they have my color I feel your pain. I really hate that the Q doesn’t offer all the choices. Call Tarte and ask customer service what you should do, you really want the TSV but are confused about the color selection. Maybe they will add some colors before Feb. Hey, it never hurts to ask.
It would be really great if you could exchange the tube for a different color.

I would have jumped on this if they would have had Ivory as one of the choices. That is a perfect match for me whereas the Light is a tad too yellow. Sharee if you get a reply from Tarte, please let us know. Why oh why do they do this for the QVC TSV’s and not offer the full range of shades? Grrr…

Ordered. That brow product looks great for my travel bag, the original mascara is great so I can’t wait to try this one, I’m curious about the lipstick, and the pattern on that bad and brush handle are so fun. I very much agree with the other posters about the shade selection, though. I have to mix medium and tan to get a color that works for me, which is insane because they make a medium-tan that would save me the hassle.

Thanks, Muse! Can’t wait to see the future shipments- I wonder if we’ll get new brushes or ones that we already have…

Happy Holidays and thanks for the scoop :)

UGH – and I’m past the return/price adjustment time frame. Oh well, if I didn’t then the dress would have sold out immediately. It’s just the gamble… LOL

Exactly! I thought I’d share, this will make you chuckle about our little love of getting a good deal. I wanted a skirt, it was $198 – really? no way. I have coupons that I can;t use until the end of the week – watches skirt…

2 days prior to coupon skirt goes on sale – GAH? but I can’t use my coupon yet. Whst to do, what to do – watches skirt every day, checking to make sure it’s still in my cart.

11:45pm – sitting at computer waiting to put in my coupon code = OH NO, something just went out of stock in my cart, WHAT? AH, please keep the skirt in my size… seconds feel like minutes, minutes are taking hours, tick tick tick –

GOT IT! at the sale price and with a coupon but what an anxiety trip. LOL it really is a pretty skirt. (at least I tried it in the store and I know the size I got will fit perfect) Told the DH that he has to take me out because I bought a dressy outfit. He was more than willing. YEA!

I nearly passed out when I saw this a wk ago for the insider. I saw that it was finally available online last wk so I preordered it. I had to get it if not just for the blush and brush lol. Not sure what to do for the fdn as medium is too dark and I remember trying light-med in Sephora (which they don’t offer) and it was too light.
