Boscia Bright White Mask Review

Boscia Bright White Mask 6

The Boscia Bright White Mask is a tempting little mask morsel as it promises brighter, whiter skin. I’m looking for ways to brighten up my duller skin and masks, facial sheet ones particularly, are an easy way to get temporary whitening results.

This particular mask says it contains advanced whitening ingredients to visibly even skintone, reduce dark spots, and brighten the complexion. Pro-vitamin C suppresses skin damage caused by UV radiation while delivering intense hydration and increasing natural moisture factors in the skin. It targets fine lines and wrinkles, and boosts collagen production to reduce excess sagging. The peel-off technology instantly smoothes the complexion for a healthy, youthful, fresh glow.

Does it work?

For temporary results, sure, hells yes it works. But sadly there aren’t any long term benefits that I’ve experienced. This is a thick ooey gooey paste that you might be familiar with if you’ve used Kose’s own Seikisho White Mask.

I do have to warn you that the glow it promises, in my experience, is from peeling the mask off. It hurts peeling it off and this pain is basically what will add redness or a blushing glow to your cheeks. If you have sensitive skin I’d avoid it.

To use it, simply apply a thin layer to your face and wait for it to harden. As it dries it produces a film-like effect on your face which allows you to peel the mask away. I find it peels off rather difficulty compared to other masks I’ve tried in this category. Actually I had so much difficulty I had a panic attack trying to find a way to peel it off. It just seems to adhere to skin a little too snugly and I don’t have nails so I had a hard time grasping an area to yank the mask off. I was very close to rinsing it off a time or two while struggling to peel it off but knew that would make a mess and prove an even bigger challenge. So I calmed down and finally snagged a piece and started peeling…! I was unable to peel the mask off in large chunks so it was slow going but finally I got it all removed.

This actually doesn’t contain any form of whitening ingredients that will actually aid in long term benefits. It does however, use a trick that some Asian masks use to brighten skin temporarily and that’s a high amount of titanium dioxide. This gives skin a pasty white effect after removal so your face appears temporarily brighter and whiter but doesn’t actually have long term lightening benefits. There’s a mask I loved (forgot the name) that I got from Japan which used a similiar effect…..it was nice to use prior to heading out for an evening as it eased dullness, brightened, and whitened. However, the effect is merely temporary.

It does not deliver intense hydration…in my opinion it actually makes my drier skin tighter after use so moisturizer after is absolutely necessary.

Overall, I think Boscia’s Bright White Mask isn’t particularly a great product. I’ve experienced better results with a variety of other Asian masks of a similiar kind. This was difficult to remove and the fleeting results weren’t worth the $38 price tag, you can get similiar products for as little as $10-$12 on Sasa.com or other Asian stores and shops.

Disappointing. I’m curious what other cheap masks you’re talking about? I haven’t had much luck with the sana vacuum. I’ve been using the sekkisei kose black one for years.

I keep eyeing this on Sephora’s website, but the black mask hurt when I pulled it off, so I should probably skip this one.

I never tried to black mask as I’m happy with my Kose one but yeah that one hurts pulling off too, you can wax your upper lip with it lol!

Hey Muse! I have a tube of this at home, bought it waaay back when it first came out and I have to agree with you, it was a really disappointing product. I love the black mask and I’ve re-purchased that one twice but this one, I’ve actually had to remind myself and schedule it in to be used 🙁 This is way goopier and it also feels a tad like toothpaste! And I’ve had a lot of difficulty trying to take it off in one complete pass as well. I always end up washing the bits off which is annoying considering it’s a peel off mask 🙁

blah burp libby ;-D glad someone though so 🙁 yeah same issues here, plus I have a hard time just finding a place to peel it from, I end up kinda rolling it off! very annoying and ends up irritating my skin! boo!

Hello ladies..this mask is, actually genius. There is not a mask I haven’t tried, except Sasa -that will be my next purchase -ty. Now, back to this one. If you use the tube to apply it, kinda like if it were a paint pen, you can get a very even application and, the perfect amount of product. I know, I know – on very clean skin, yes. But, the trick I figured out is: Pull apart a piece of thick-ply toilet paper, so you get little wispy pieces, and paper mache it to the mask while it is still wet. You’re basically making a little handle to pull it off with. As everyone knows, cover-models shave their faces weekly -This mask will do that for you(giggle). before a night out, I make time for this mask/process. It is the ONLY mask I’ve ever used that actually changes the way your face looks -immediately.. For me anyway. I’m get an even looking rosy flush all over my face, and my powder goes on so smooth since the little peach fuzz everywhere has been pulled off with it -generously. 🙂 But, again, very evenly. Yeah, hurts a little, but so worth it., I was a little shocked you girls gave it such a bad review. Hope that helps..Mimi(errors not edited. No time.)
