Covergirl + Olay Concealer Balm Review & Swatches
Shut the front door, I actually like Covergirl + Olay Concealer Balm!
How can this be possible. Covergirl + Olay Concealer Balm is actually a lipstick style concealer. I mean come on, this brings you way back to your grandmother’s makeup right? I’ve always, always belittled the old lipstick concealer because fact people, it’s concealer in a lipstick tube…plus chalk it up as being hecka dry and you got yourself a recipe for disaster.
I think the last time I used concealer like this I was a freshman in high school. That was probably the day I figured out what dry concealer was all about.
Don’t write it off though. It’s actually good.
They named it well, Concealer “balm”. This has a balm-y like texture with an easy glide under eyes that provides sheer to medium coverage to diffuse and conceal the look of dark circles, puffiness, finer lines, and all that other woe that might be going on under your eyes. It sets to a smooth silky finish that doesn’t creep into finer lines.
It’s change my mind about lipstick style concealers.
The formula isn’t terribly moisturizing but it isn’t dry either. It has a smooth, buttery, even glide under my eyes and covers most of my issues without a hiccup. I got it in light, just a warning though, that shade is way dark. I believe they launched in a total of six shades but those are smaller displays so at some point when this reaches the general catalog perhaps more shades will become available.
It isn’t the best concealer I ever used mind you but it is a surprising concealer that I can see myself reaching for on more than one occasion to quickly conceal under my eyes. It’s easy to use (swivel it up, swipe it on, blend, GO), it travels very well, and the coverage is fairly good. I think when I don’t want to deal with too much nonsense I’ll easily reach for this for quick concealer application and go. Wear time seems to vary for me but I got at least five hours without a touch up so that isn’t too bad a deal.
I wouldn’t race out and buy it right away but if you happen to find it on sale I’d pick it up. Fairly good coverage, nice formula that conceals minor issues, and a quick and easy way to apply with a quick swipe.
Not too shabby.
I like!
Not life changing but not too bad at all!
