Dior Cherie Bow Palette for Spring 2013

Here’s a little glance at the darling Dior Cherie Bow Palette ($80) for Spring 2013.

My hand is still shaking coming into contact with it so I haven’t yet swatched. I have a case of beauty vault syndrome still. Ya know, where you want to tuck your palette into a safe spot and never, ever use it and or allow it to see the light of day!?

Yeah, well, my beauty vault is filled with untouchables but I promise myself that I WILL use the Dior Cherie Bow Palette at some point.

Inspired by The House of Dior’s iconic symbol, the bow, this season’s look exudes femininity, sophistication and sensuality with a playful twist of pink!

Tucked into a soft, pink-and-white enamel compact this palette contains pink and grey eyeshadows, a black liner, nude shimmering gloss and two applicators.

It’s limited edition for Spring 2013 and available now at dior.com as well as your favorite Dior counters.

I’m loving the pink shadow in this but I’m unsure how I can use the grey in conjunction with it.

Thoughts?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Pink and gray are a classic combo. I’d probably use the gray on the outer V and up into the crease 🙂

Agree completely! I am actually sportin the pink/grey look today -only I used shades from a Laura Mercier palette. It might be a bit “cool” for you though Muse if you use that combo. I actually did a cool toned pink the other day with a warm chocolate and that turned out pretty. To offset the coolness of the grey if you find too much with your coloring trying pairing the grey with something similar to MACs expensive pink on lid or popping a warm toned shade of one of UD on lid? I also tend to use warmer cheek and lips colors – peaches instead of pinks when doing a very cool eye. These colors are right up my alley but will have to pass as already have plenty!

jen thanks for the tips ;-D appreciate it…! can do pink on my lids but pairing it with gray seems a little cool for me…gonna try and see what I can come up with ;D

        • Jen_m_sunshine

Can’t wait to see!. Agree though – almost too pretty to use… I never seem to have good luck with the Dior palette items. I love their e/s and mascara though.

prob with dior palettes (shadows) is they are always so frosty for me 🙁

  • amy

As adorable as this is, $80 is a bit too much for me… I’m loving that midtone shade, though!

  • Madii

Pretty, but waaay too sheer for such a price. I like it when I can actually see the make up I’m wearing.

So, I don’t know if you have addressed this somewhere, but how does Mr. Muse handle your beauty addiction? If I bought hundreds of dollars of makeup I planned to simply tuck away to look at later my husband would have an aneurism. He already pleads with me no more makeup! So, how do you get away with it all?

    • the Muse

I am confirmed singleton that has bottled water, pickles, and olives in her fridge and who dates a nice geeky guy, the contradiction is there somewhere ;-D We have separate bank accounts, he has his own apartment, I have my own house, so it isn’t a relationship where we dictate each others expenses 🙂 I am far to set in my own ways to have him move in with me or him with me. We actually don’t really discuss makeup or much about the blog/site at all. Our interests together, as a couple, kinda veer off the weird and unusual path of geekdom, fandoms, action figures, graphic novels, and good movies….unfortunately sometimes aside from the makeup on my face, it seems like makeup doesn’t always touch outside of my personal relationships whether they be love or friendships…! Aside from my best friend Jai, that’s probably the only person that really understands “makeup addiction disorder” ;-D All my other friends are just meh about it and Martin (my boyfriend, partner, geek in arms, best friend? we really don’t label what we are to each other) and I rarely discuss beauty because we’re too busy debating why firefly was canceled!? so yeah, story of my life….;-D I’m just too set in my ways to marry someone and proceed to have them tell me what I should and shouldn’t be spending, or good lord kids (the thought terrifies me), or just generally growing up…marriage seems like the doorway to “ok you have to be mature and grow up now” and I am SO far from that it isn’t even funny ;-D

P.S. If I EVER got married and called Martin “Mr Muse” he’d likely leave me, instant grounds for divorce…LOL!

Can someone please sprain why the hell Firefly was discontinued?!? I mean seriously. Best series ever! And why is Mal now Castle? These things keep me up at night. I enjoyed the window into your personal life 🙂

        • the Muse

lol EXACTLY WINNI! GOD DAMMIT why did they cancel Firefly are they MAD!? It’s like the long lost love that got away *sits in a corner and rocks back and fourth*

This product intrigued me enough to check it out on the Dior website. And then I remembered why I refuse to buy department store cosmetics anymore — the price is so high, the product so pretty, I could not justify buying it and/or using it! BTW I used to buy Dior all the time because my initials were right there on the front 😉

But I wanted to address your issue with using the grey shadows. I love grey (purple and pink, too) shadows best! I often use grey from lash line to crease, with pink as highlight. If I want to go for more drama, I use a charcoal or dark purple in the crease. Not to mention grey makes a great eyeliner!

    • the Muse

lol true true those are you initials! yeah, I actually noticed I use a lot less of my high end makeup due to the glam packaging and that’s such a shame! I just want to wrap cotton around it and never take it out ;-D!

thanks! jotting all these down! seems like everyone has a great way to wear grey! wasn’t sure the best way but getting tons of ideas from you guys today!

Hi Muse! Love your site – this is my first time commenting! The other day I was in Costco, and they were selling Dior pallettes! The one at my Costco here in Virginia was called the Rose Collection – 4 eyeshadows and 4 glosses for $25!!!! I have a Dior pallette from Sephora, and these Costco pallettes are full size shadows! The shadows are greys and pink, and the glosses are varying shades of pink. Go haul you some!

    • the Muse

WHOA dior at Costco! TOOL cool! will have to see if my costco has any! thanks rose ;-D and thanks so glad you enjoy Musings ;-D!

    • kimmwc03

      Whoa, where in VA?

This palette looks so cute but I don’t plan on purchasing. I need to cut back on palettes as I have too many now.

  • Jen_m_sunshine

Hi all – I just saw Sephora has a new Dior palette posted onsite. 4 e/s and 4 lipgloss/sticks for $59. Similar shades to this one but softer e/s. Hmmm

    • TudorRose

Hi Jen – I just checked out the Sweet Cherie Pinks palette on Sephora.com, and it looks just like the one I commented about above that was in Costco for $25 (I also spelled palette wrong thru the entire post, which horrifies me, but I digress). I believe the colors are the same (sometimes hard to tell online), but the pink quilted packaging and metal “D” are exactly the same. At Costco they called it the Rose Collection.

  • Celine

Yes, pink and greay go great together! I thought I was the only one who tucked beautiful packaging away scared to touch it haha
