Dior Diorskin Nude BB Creme Review & Swatches

Dior Diorskin Nude BB Creme

Being a rather huge fan of Diorsnow’s BB Cream I was all about trying out the new Dior Diorskin Nude BB Creme. This was launched in four shades recently for Spring 2013.

Although Dior totally gets the concept of BB Cream, as we know from their genius release of Dior Diorsnow UV Shield White Reveal BB Creme, they somehow missed a beat with the new Diorskin Nude BB Creme and the experienced turned into more of a tinted moisturizer experience.

A very sad SPF 10 also joins the mix here (considering White Reveal contains 50, that is quite a jump down)…

Take a peek!

Created as a multi-use BB Cream this promises to smooth, moisturize, and correct skin with a weightless formula enhanced with mineralized floral water and a blend of antioxidants.

Dior actually makes no promises about coverage, they market it as sheer and sheer it is. For me it almost feels like an illuminating primer of sorts that gives skin a glow with a dewy finish.

This does disappointed when you’re expecting a more traditional creamy, thick BB Cream formula with fuller coverage.

The texture is a runny, thin consistency which absorbs easily into my drier skin and leaves behind a moist finish. It’s actually positively delightful on my face. It feels very refreshing, almost cool, and leaves my skin nicely hydrated. The coverage is where I’m iffy…it’s very sheer so I had issues with it easing my dullness. I was hoping for a fresher appearance after application but I felt more like I just applied a lightweight moisturizer versus a BB Cream as it hydrated but didn’t actually ease my dullness or perfect my skin. I have clear skin with very little issues outside of dryness and dullness and I was disappointed with the coverage so I imagine if you have redness, acne scarring, or other problems and expect this to aid you in concealing those problems, you’ll be sorely disappointed. It does produce a minor glow on my skin but I can easily achieve that from a liquid highlighter of some sort, what I really want and need is some sort of tint to even out my skin and erase dullness.

Overall, Dior Diorskin Nude BB Creme isn’t really a BB Cream at all. I’d call it more of a tinted highlighting moisturizer of sorts. If you’re looking for a great BB Cream experience I’d try Dior’s White Reveal BB Cream for the creamiest texture and better coverage.

Didn’t love this one, sorry Dior!

me no like either… too many companies jumping on the BB bandwagon and not getting it right.. you won’t see this around for long… have you tried Tarte’s BB primer?

    • the Muse

sure have barb reviewed it a few months ago 🙂 I liked it, interesting product.

I think there’s a distinct difference to be found between basically all western BBs and asian ones. Personally, I use the name (Beauty Balm versus Blemish Balm) as an indicator myself.

Aw, how disappointing, this had so much potential, I actually found the Diorsnow BB a little too think for my taste, so I was hoping that this would provide a thinner consistency with similar coverage to their Nude foundation with sunscreen, too bad it’s not that 🙁

    • the Muse

dory that’s about what it is, thinner, sheerer, and much like dior nude foundation but not as much coverage.

I like this one quite a bit, although I’d have to agree with you. It’s a glorified TM with a measly SPF 10.

  • blueraccoon

I’m still tempted but although I prefer light coverage this may be a bit too sheer even for me 🙁 I did swatch it at my local Sephora–they had testers but not the actual product–and the lighest shade did match well against my skin. Maybe the next time I go there I’ll get a sample. O Wise Muse, what would your best TIM/american BB cream recs be for a really pale girl with combo/oily skin? I have the Bobbi Brown BB cream and I like it, if that helps.

Just as a note – I got a sample of this the last time I was in Sephora, and tried it tonight, and I think I’m in love. It makes my skin look like velvet. Not made up, totally natural, but smooth and glowy and perfect. I added a bit of the Tarte awakening cheek stain and a lip pencil and it’s a perfect natural look. I do have a bit of flakiness around my nose that it highlighted, but I need to exfoliate. I really, really love this stuff and am so buying the full tube.

Aww what a disappointment, I was expecting more since their Diorsnow BB cream was pretty darn good

Will America ever get it right when it comes to bb cream? We do not want a glorified tinted moisturizer people!! Haha! I’ll stick with my skin79 pink bb, makes my skin look flawless.

I love this. I just bought it a few days ago and used it two days in a row. So far i am loving it, i have minor redness around my nose that it covered. i used my hands to apply it and let it really sink in. it helped the dryness i get around my mouth and certain patches on my cheek. It provided me with a light coverage, so much that i was tempted to not even powder it.

I know that you have tried to keep up with the BB creams that have flooded the market. I have read many of your reviews for them and I know that you have been disappointed with a lot of them. Can you list a few of your faves vs ones you do not recommend, to save me from combing through the archives to find every last review? Thanks! Have a fantastic weekend!

I think I’ll stick with my Korean Bb creams- I own like 15 now, it’s an addiction & a sickness! Although, I kind of like all these “bb creams” America has now because I have always hated foundation (except for Mac F&B and YSl Touche Eclat Foundation). However, I do love tinted moisturizers, so at least now we have a ton of them to pick from even in the drugstore! This one def seems like a pass. And what’s up with the spf 10? Why even bother?

  • Barb

like @blueraccoon above I also got a sample and love it! so people don’t be afraid to try this gem! It’s really beautiful on especially if you’re looking for the no makeup look. It feels great, goes on smoothly and evens out skin tone. I added a little concealer and voila flawless looking skin. I do love Boscia’s BB as well but find the two completely different. I’ll be telling my girlfriends about this baby! TRY IT! (oh and the price point… for Dior.. is VERY reasonable)

Got this from a Sephora store in Singapore last year. Loooove this! I bought the Shade 002 (guess it is differently called in the States)

  • Diana

I loved the Dior snow bb creme with 50 spf I got this one hoping it’d be similar and it’s absolutely different. It’s very sheer and doesn’t provide any coverage.
