Dr. Jart Water Fuse Smart Gel BB for Spring 2013

New year, New BB Creams to contend with. Dr. Jart Water Fuse Smart Gel BB ($36) is a new potted BB Cream available in two shade selections.

I’m positive the packaging isn’t going to win any awards for brilliance but the interesting formula might intrigue you!

Dr. Jart Water Fuse Smart Gel BB provides natural, flawless coverage in a unique jelly texture that adds bounce to your skin!

Inspired by the memory foam mattress this BB Cream has the ability to return from a deformed state to its original one. The Water Fuse Smart Gel formula retakes shape once applied and aids it reducing fine line and large pores while brightening skin, protecting it with an SPF 30, and correcting skin tone.

Count me curious.

But…I’m not really a big fan of the Water Fuse formula so unsure how I’ll feel about this. It sounds like a whipped mousse of some sort and I’m a sucker for BB Creams in a whipped texture.

We shall see!

Available now at Sephora.com and soon at Sephora stores.

I’ve stayed away from BB creams in the past year bc of the consistency of the formulas. I’d really like to try this one. I’m def. interested.

I’m interested in this one because it comes in 2 shades—the original Waterfuse was great EXCEPT that it was far too light on me-although I suspect this is better on older skin

Really looking forward to your thoughts on this one. I’ve wanted to try a BB cream, but the foundation type formula doesn’t suit me. I love gel moisturizers, so hopefully this will be perfect!

my combo skin leans oily in summertime and loves gel moisturizers so i’m hoping that this will be my HG BB!

This sounds interesting to say the least. I have the Dr Jart BB in the gold package and its okay, but nothing amazing. Can’t wait to see if this is better.

Ooooohhh…as Alice (in Wonderland) would say, “curiouser and curiouser”. Looks good!

Does it feel lightweight on the skin? Is it moisturizing? Overall how good do you think the product is?

It’s awesome. Having never used a BB cream, I tried five different brands on my hands at Sephora and chose this one after walking around the mall for an hour. Wore it today for the first time and I am blown away. My ten-year-old son even commented on what seemed “different” about my face. I moisturized with Ole Henriksen truth creme advanced hydration then applied the gel with my fingers. The result is quite unbelievable. Totally blended with my skin tone, even though it seemed like it wouldn’t. Smaller pores, age spots FAR less visible or totally invisible. Brighter skin, no redness. Did not wear any other makeup, just curled my eyelashes and I was so pleased with my appearance. The others I tried were Smashbox, Boscia, Stila and Dior. All were pretty good except for Dior, which turned a cakey orange and remained on my hand till I scrubbed it off.

My suggestions to make this BB even more effective: make sure skin is very hydrated/moisturized. My skin is extra dry due to winter, so tomorrow I will use extra moisturizer before applying BB. Also, the package advises using the provided spatula to apply. Hmmm…it sucked. I dotted and used my fingers. Best $ I’ve spent in a long time!
