Etude House Princess Etionette Heart Blusher Review & Swatches
I’ve been playing around with my Etude House Princess Etionette Heart Blusher for the past few weeks and decided to review them today. These are a darling, limited edition release from Korean brand, Etude House for the Holidays.
As you can see from this post and some of my prior posts, it’s the darling packaging the blush comes in that really seals the deal. With a swoon worthy jar and little conversation heart piece blushes what’s not to love about this entire presentation?
As gorgeous as it is I fear a bad review upcoming…!
Go ahead…buy it because it’s sweet, buy it because you want to display on your vanity, buy it because you’re a complete packaging whore…don’t buy it because of the quality of the blush though.
I had a friend purchase both shades from Korea for me on the original launch. It comes in an orange and a pink variation both of which having graduating shades of hearts in three separate shades. You get ten shades per blush, a puff for application, and a cute little jar to hold them in.
The hearts are very delicate so depending where you buy them I do urge you to ask for extra padding and shipping material so they don’t break on the way overseas. They are a thick cut heart so they are about the size of a conversation heart candy in size but not in thickness….they’d be more like placing two conversation hearts on top of each other to obtain the thickness of each blusher heart size.
Each color has a graduating shade selection that contains a glow shade, a pigmented blush shade, and a highlighter shade of sorts. The shades are supposed to combine to create a glowing, highlighted finish.
I find them very difficult to work with. With the included puff they don’t yield very much color, plus the color that does get on the puff ends up applying patchy. I decided I’d swirl a kabuki in them and try applying this way. This does yield good color onto the blush but the lightest shade heart tends to drown out the pigmented one resulting in a very sheer layer of color on cheeks. Honestly? The best way to get color on your cheeks is taking a heart, swiping it across your cheeks, and blending out with the puff or your fingers….otherwise, you’re not getting color at all using any of the methods I described above.
Sigh.
I hate to be such a Debbie Downer as I expect with this sort of packaging you’d want a huge rave. And yes, Etude House gets that big rave for presentation. But the hearts prove frustrating and challenging to work with and end up producing a very sheer, frosty finish sans any color…
Meh.
I’m glad I indulged though….! I’m too much of a packaging whore not to love all over these. Formula is weak but presentation is brilliant.
There are a few various E-bay Sellers that are selling these. One I trust, purchased from in the past, and enjoy working with is Zinoparks. His English is the best but he has reasonable great shipping times, a nice personality, and is trustworthy. I am not affiliated with this seller, merely purchased from him before.
Did you end up purchasing these?
