Lavshuca Girly Whip Cheek Review & Swatches

Lavshuca Girly Whip Cheek Fall 2012

Lavshuca introduced their Girly Whip Cheek Blush for Fall 2012 in four shades. I’ve actually had two of them for quite a while now but didn’t get a chance to review them.

This is the first time Lavshuca has done a cream blush to my knowledge and I eagerly grabbed a few shades since I liked the packaging. They house these in a long lipgloss like tube with a sponge applicator for application. Although I’m not the biggest fan and supporter of cream blushes I have to admit I liked the idea of swiping on and blending out. Seemed easy and so travel friendly.

What did I think?

Lavshuca Girly Whip Cheek is the oddest name ever. I think things get lost in translation with Japanese cosmetics sometimes and I love sitting back and laughing at some of the odd names.

Unfortunately, I didn’t like these little blushers in the least. If you have oilier, fairer skin you might love them but those with drier and medium, tanned, or darker skin won’t really love ’em.

These have a creamy almost whipped consistency. I like the texture a lot, they just feel interesting! They actually blend very well onto my cheeks but have a very sheer finish with little pigment. The thing I really didn’t love about them was the drier, matte finish…I admit they looked very smooth on my cheeks and didn’t cling to flaky areas in the least but the matte finish wasn’t terribly appealing to my shimmer loving self.

The good news is for a more natural look without a lot of fanfare these deliver. On days I need a lighter blush when doing a bolder eye look these provide just the right amount of flush without over doing it. They make my cheeks loo naturally rosy without being overwhelming my eye look or perhaps a bolder lipstick.

Overall, they aren’t my favorite blush formula. I wouldn’t go to any extra trouble to haul them unless you have oily skin and a lighter complexion and favor a sheerer blush. Otherwise, I can’t say I thought them terribly special.

They are available for $22 at YesStyle.com

Sadly, this isn’t at all close to retail but compared to other online shop prices it’s competitive.

Anyone try?

The PK-1 looks nice on you! 🙂

As a sidenote, my Etude House Etoinette blush arrived a few days ago. I found that picking up the color into my brush is difficult, but somehow the color showed up easily on me. (And somehow Benefit Bella Bamba which is much darker wouldn’t show up on my cheeks). Ha.

    (Sory for the OOT-ness!)

    • the Muse

  • Whimsical Kelly

I think the shade you’re wearing looks lovely on you and I’m interested in trying one (oily fair skin right here!), but the price tag is a bit prohibitive.

I think it looks great on you! It would have been nice to see a little shimmer though, it always seems to liven up everyone’s faces. At least they’re pretty colors though!

Thanks for the share Muse =) I love the lipgloss-like packaging! Do you find the consistency more like the Maybelline mousse blushes or MUFE’s HD cream blushes?

    • the Muse

mmm neither jean……the maybelline ones are a little dense (I assume you mean the dream mousse?) and the MUFE’s are more liquidy…these are kinda creamy with a little bit of a whipped texture…I hope that makes sense!?

  • Tiffany Martin

Glad you reviewed these, I’ve never seen a blush like this before, these would probably look so powder cute on skin like mine (almost impossible to get powder cute with oil slick skin )

  • Trinity

These remind me a lot of the Canmake whip mousse lip! The packaging and the consistency looks pretty similar??
