Maybelline Inked In Pink Color Tattoo Metal Eyeshadow Review & Swatches
Maybelline Inked in Pink Color Tattoo Metal Eyeshadow is one of five new shades of Maybelline 24H Color Tattoo Eyeshadow that the brand recently introduced for Spring 2013. These new shades are all metallic finishes thus the “metal” in the title.
I was quite excited about the shade Inked In Pink as I’m a lover of pinks plus it’s a different, unique shade that Maybelline hasn’t yet covered in this range.
Take a look!
I like to review each shade of Color Tattoo individually since I find the formula varies from shade to shade. Some are brilliant and others I find are misses due to patchy issues, dryness, or finish. It’s sort of a mixed road with hits and misses along it.
Inked in Pink is a baby pink with a tiny hint of mauve. It appears quite metallic in the jar however, as suspected, it went all kinds of frosty on my lids. Metallics sometimes do this for me. It does have a cakey, uneven texture and does need some TLC for application in my opinion. Too little and color barely shows up, too much and the shadow looks frosty and cakey.
It’s quite nicely pigmented but you do need a little building to get the best intensity. I do suggest a brush for application and fingers to pat and blend into place. Two layers should get the desired shade you see in the jar. The texture was creamy and it blended easily although I seemed to have an issue with blending the color away. Blame it on my heavier hands. Just use a little caution when applying and you should be ok.
Color wore well without fading or creasing throughout an entire work day.
It’s not really the best shade of Color Tattoo I’ve ever tried but it is a unique shade of pink well worth picking up. Some of the frost was disappointing to me but if you spend extra time and patience blending it out you shouldn’t have too many issues.
It’s available now along with five other shades at drugstores.
