NARS Seduction Blush Review & Swatches

This was provided to me by a brand for review but all opinions expressed are my own

NARS Blush in Seduction is part of the NARS Spring 2013 Collection. Described as a sangria shade this is one of those bold shades of color that tanned and darker skin tones will absolutely adore.

It’s a deep, rich red wine that packs quite a punch!

Take a peek!

NARS Seduction Blush ($28) doesn’t cut any corners with pigment. This one needs an ultra light hand to apply otherwise clown-y cheeks are on the horizon my dears. If you have darker complexion you’ll absolutely see color pay off from this shade and it will pop on tanned or caramel skin tones.

But no worries, I think it looks just as nice on medium skin as well. If you have some redness or ruddiness in your cheeks you def want to be sure to conceal these areas well as this color can make things look worst. A lighter hand and you’ll find it applies with a soft berry glow. It has a soft formula but the blush texture is a tad denser however, swiping a brush across it yields instant results so use a soft fibre brush or something with bushier bristles to maintain control over how muchh you apply.

The shade gives my cheeks a warm reddish hue that’s very flattering when combined with a smoky eye look. I found it a little challenging to work with due to my heavier hand however, armed with the right tools I was able to apply it sheer and with a little more intensity for a very nice glow. It contains a tiny bit of shimmer with a satiny finish that does apply a tad patchy if you aren’t careful, just prep well prior to applying and blend, blend, blend for the best finish!

If you’re looking for something bold this Spring, Seduction will prove it. It’s a unique shade of blush that packs a powerful punch!

Lemming it?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. quite similiar actually let! but sleek’s is deeper, richer…and formula is kinda bitchier to work with too, NARS’ has a smoother formula, less patchy joy.

Looks lovely – I’d get it if it wasn’t for the price tag. Looks a bit like the Clinque Black Honey blush??

    • Majick

this appears more pink/red than black honey, black honey is more of a plum shade

I saw the video of this on the NARS website – they barely touched the models face with the color. I think it’s a gorgeous shade and may pick it up if a 20% off code comes along.

I also like the pink eye shadow set they used on the model but I wouldn’t buy it. I have way too similar products that I will use to re-create the look.

Wow that blush actually looks great one your light complexion. I remember being told by some guy that worked behind a Cle de Peau counter in a fancy department store 5 years ago that the brightest and deepest blush colors actually look the most realistic on pale skin tones when used sparingly. Like an actual healthy flush. I’m NC20 in MAC foundation so I usually play it safe with light peachy-pink colors as for blushes but I think I’d like to try something a little more outside my comfort zone with a little morre spice to it like this.

    God I love NARS.

hey bethany go for it ;-D! try it at your local counter! me too! great brand!

  • Ivy

I don’t muse.. I think for any blush at nearly $30 a pop, it shouldn’t apply patchy :/ but I’m glad you like it! PS have you tried or reviews the elf studio blushes?

    • the Muse

yeah ivy ;-D def have to be careful with a dark shade like this ;-D I have. I reviewed them a few years ago ;-D if you search through archives you’ll see the review 😀

God, this is beautyful! I want it. 🙂 And it really suits you. 🙂

I need this one! I have the black honey powder blush, and just comparing it to the picture above, it seems more brown. Which the brown in it can turn muddy if I’m not careful. I also find that on my MAC NC 35 skin it pulls peachy/brownish plum instead of a more pure berry. I love berry!

Darn. This will look awful with my pale, cool toned skin. Thanks for sharing the swatches, though—saved me a trip to the store just to be disappointed. Oh well…last spring I was able to get the Gaiety blush and it was gorgeous on me.

  • Angela Hall

Looks similar to Montenegro cream blush by NARS. It might be good to layer them

  • Miss Murple

Hello! Would you be able to compare it to the Mounia blush that NARS released and discontinued many moons ago? Thank you! 🙂
