Neutrogena Crease Proof Eye Shadow Review & Swatches
Neotrogena recently introduced their new Crease Proof Eye Shadow Sticks ($7.79 at Harmons) for Spring 2013. These are available in six shade selections and promise an all day wear thanks to a built in primer that prevents creasing or fading.
I typically like cream eyeshadow but I’m not really a fan of it in a chubby stick or pencil as in many cases this type of packaging seems to come along with a denser less than creamy eyeshadow. But there are any number of cream eyeshadow pencils that are fairly great out there.
Neutrogena Crease Proof Eye Shadow sounded like a great concept for a quick eye look on the good for me and hey, if it had a built in primer all the better one less step in my rather long beauty regime in the AM.
Take a look!
With a six shade release I think Neutrogena Crease Proof Eye Shadows could lack a little variety if you end up really loving the product. However, for myself, there is no danger of that.
Supposedly these are anti-oxidant rich formula that nourishes the delicate eye area. Could of fooled me as the dense formula feels a little scratchy on my lid during application and the less than creamy formula wasn’t anything I was getting too excited about.
The colors are supposed to have light reflecting pearls that help to brighten eyes. I think I did see some of this with the shade I tried, Constant Copper, as my eyes did look brighter however, the sheerness of the shade was very disappointing. It’s far from copper and more of a light, frosty peach. I actually expressed some frosty finish concern when originally telling you about these and in fact this shade is quite frosty so a little time and patience blending out is key to keeping that frost to a minimum.
Each shadow comes in a small chubby swivel up tube and holds 0.10 oz of product. That’s a very generous amount of eyeshadow for this price.
Overall, I see nothing special here unfortunately. Neutrogena Crease Proof Eye Shadow aren’t particularly creamy, seem to lack pigment (if the color I tried is anything to go by), and doesn’t blend out so great. Unfortunately, I did some some minor creasing within a four hour period as well so that built in primer isn’t exactly working. There are any number of cream shadow in the budget world to try and this isn’t one of the better ones.
You can probably safely skip it.
P.S. I am using Urban Decay Naked Beauty Balm in these photos.
