Pur Minerals Beautiful Creatures Collection for Spring 2013

I remember reading Beautiful Creatures in the Fall of 2010 I believe. If I recall correctly it was introduced to me via an Amazon recommendation.

I’m a lover of many types of books. If it has words on it, I’ll read it. YA happens to one of the genres I do dabble my toes in occasionally however, it has to be good YA for me to actually enjoy it because let’s face it, fluffy literature is sometimes great fun!

Needless to say Beautiful Creatures was one of those novels that captivates the imagination. I found myself picturing the gothic south in my head the way Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl wrote it.

Flash forward to 2013 and Beautiful Creatures is being made into a movie. But…unfortunately, the actors playing these characters I fell in love with in the book aren’t exactly how I pictured them in my minds on. But hey, at least we get Jeremy Irons.

Oh and a Pur Minerals Beautiful Creatures Makeup Collection. That helps…!

The Pur Minerals Beautiful Creatures Collection is a $39 set that features a Beautiful Creatures Eyeshadow Palette, eyeliner, and lipgloss.

Unfortunately, Ulta has listed the palette but not the exact shades in it. However, it looks like a rather beautiful selection of lush Fall greens and plums. Very wearable shades it seems.

What do you think?

This is available now at Ulta.com

I was thinking about it and imagine the marketing that’s going to go into Fifty Shades? Do you think we’ll see a ton of makeup collections inspired by the movie? Imagine Tarte doing a Fifty Shades Collection? Why does this make me bite my lip giggle?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Not a big fan of the book and even less of the movie casting, but the palette looks gorgeous!

I already have this collection as it was part of a Today’s Top Value on ShopNBC before Christmas. The shadow palette is fabulous!!! The colors are nicely pigmented, very smooth and creamy feeling, and long-lasting with primer. My husband even told me he loved the way my eyes looked when I wore the purples from the palette. I highly recommend this one!

    • the Muse

wow! sounds lovely Julie ;-D the colors look amazing! might have to stop by ulta!

You had me at Jeremy Irons. I looOOoooOOoove that man! Please tell me you watch the Borgias?!

      • Cindy Ramirez

        Oh goody! I Can’t wait for the next season of that show! Between that and Game of Thrones, I’m going to explode from anticipation waiting for these new seasons D;

          • Cindy Ramirez

I just couldn’t get back into the show after the first season. The actor they replaced Andy with eerily looked like him sometimes.

          • the Muse

OH I WISH I got that vibe….! I couldn’t get into after Andy was replaced, the new guy is stiff as hell! :-/ I still watch because some episodes are just awesome but the start of last season seemed drawn out and boring. Plus might I add the sexing is a bit too much sometimes…jeepers how much boobs and butt do we have to see before we get to the swords and fighting!

I LOVE the Borgias, Game of Thrones and Spartacus as well. But I REALLY Hate the new actor they cast as Spartacus. I cannot get over it. He has no body to speak of, Mr Noodle Arms and Ironing Board Chest over here, blah. Not to mention he looks like some Midwest farmboy, NOT a Roman Gladiator. I got to thinking about it and you know who would have been an adequate replacement? That actor who plays Thor, Chris Hemsworth, He would have been so much more suited to the role. What do you think? Don’t know if anybody here reads Patricia Cornwell, but they will be making her books into movies. I heard they cast Angelina Jolie as Kay Scarpetta, what the hell? In what world does that make sense? That’s one of the worst casting jobs I’ve ever heard of.

so do I shannon. I don’t mind his body really but I thought his acting was meh. He just never got into the character the way Andy did. plus felt they jumped the gun with his relationship…one minute he’s sobbing about his wife the next he’s loving someone else?! Hmmm Chris Hemsworth as Spartacus I could picture that. SAY what?! I didn’t hear that and yes I read PC….ugh I dunno if I can watch Angelina Jolie as Kay Scarpetta?!?!?! are they going to dye Angelina’s hair?!

  • Tinkibell

I love these books! Normally I try to go along with movie casting from books, as I figure that everyone pictures the characters differently…but OMG! They could not have cast a worse Ethan if they tried!

He is described rather well in the book and I just can not understand why they went with this guy who looks like he should be a senior in COLLEGE let alone a high school student! No….just…NO!

Sorry for the rant…it’s just become a huge pet peeve of mine! lol And don’t get me started on how they combined two female characters into one…*sigh*

The palette is rather cute though!

    • the Muse

lol must admit I thought the same, not even college, in his 30’s lol! wasn’t thrilled with Lena’s casting either!

  • cat

I don’t know anything about the inspiration but the colors look perfect for brown eyes so I’m intrigued. I’ve never tried this brand so I don’t know what the formula is like.

  • Miss D

Speaking of books…I’ve known for a while that you are a Neil Gaiman fan. I have never read any of his novels (or anything else by him), but now I want to. Can you suggest a novel to me? Something you really like? Thanks in advance. 🙂

    • the Muse

oh my that’s a loaded question Miss D! 😀 ALL of them!? haha! depends on what you are looking to read…comics? books? I really love Good Omens combing Gaiman with Pratchett how can you go wrong? It’s really a great way to get into Terry Pratchett’s works as well which are equally as entertaining as what Gaiman writes! The Graveyard Book is really great as well and American Gods. Neverwhere isn’t his best work but I really enjoyed the story. Stardust also happens to be a fav of mine. These are all great starting points imho ;-D

      • Miss D

I was thinking about books in particular, so you’ve given me a few good choices to think about- thanks again! 🙂

        • the Muse

oh my pleasure! my pleasure! if it has words on it I likely read it ;-D hehe ask anytime! and do share your reads!

  • Hannah

Oh I think I might just die if Tarte or any similar brand comes up with Fifty Shades of ____. Not so sure I’d want 50 shades of grey.. but the concept is certainly interesting!

And a heads up (saw this on a tweet) – if you use that link to buy the palette (it takes you straight to Pur Minerals’ site) you get free shipping! 🙂
