Queen Helene Cocoa Butter Natural Facial Scrub Review
So you want a cheap facial scrub that works? Queen Helene Cocoa Butter Natural Facial Scrub is your girl! At around $3.49-$4 this cheap as chips facial exfoliator works a treat to scrub away dry, flaky skin and get skin glowing again.
I know many folks prefer and use St Ive’s Apricot Scrub but I’m honestly had a soft spot in my heart for Queen Helene Cocoa Butter Natural Facial Scrub for a few years now and honestly like it way better. It’s more finely grained, isn’t as drying, and exfoliates away my dry, flaky areas with ease without over stripping my skin.
Take a look!
This contains pure cocoa butter with natural-fibers to unclog pores, remove dead, dry cells, while renewing and resurfacing skin. Natural Cocoa Butter is an excellent way to replenish moisture on skin but I’m unsure how great it is for your face….personally I love the scrub and find the addition of cocoa butter an excellent moisturizing element that adds hydration to the scrub.
I use it once a week in the shower (sometimes twice if I’m feeling like a rebel). Simply wet your face, apply a quarter size amount to your hands, and massage into skin. This is a thick, creamy texture that resembles cocoa butter with tiny, refined grains…these appear to be some sort of grainy seeds but are actually ground walnut shell. The texture is considerably more refined when compared to St Ives which has a fair grainier texture. Have no fear though it’s abrasive enough to attach drier areas easily and buff away flakes and dead skin.
I think the addition of cocoa butter is interesting. It seems to add much needed moisture to my skin as I scrub and instead of feeling dry and too tight as I do with most facial scrubs, I end up feeling quite softer and moisturized after use. I do think the cocoa butter might be a little too rich for oily skin but those with drier or combo skin will appreciate the extra moisture it provides.
I admit I use a variety of exfoliating products, doing my best to achieve softer, smoother skin…but this is one of the cheapest and nicest I’ve run across. I return to it again and again. It’s easy to locate, cheap as sin, and just works.
If you have drier skin in need of extra moisture, softness, and smoothness I’d check it out.
