Too Faced Lip Injection Lip Gloss Review & Swatches

This was provided to me by a brand for review but all opinions expressed are my own

Too Faced Lip Injection Lipgloss gets a new pair of clothes for Spring 2013. It’s the same great formula but with a new, cuter packaging featuring a gold ribbon top.

I’ve never personally tried Lip Injection. Being a long time fan of DuWop I haven’t actually switched up my lip plumper of choice in too many years so when Lip Injection arrived on my door step it was a good excuse to give a whirl.

Let’s take a look!

This is probably one of the gentlest plumping formulas I’ve tried. It has a fruity taste and lacks that tingle or full on sting that many lipgloss plumping formulas are associated with. The smooth formula applies a little dryly at first but after a single application the moisture and shine of the gloss seems to triple. It’s the oddest experience…! At first I felt like the gloss had a so so texture with a drier feel but as it warms up it seems to go glossier, shinier, and feels like it expands around my lip area.

Very interesting feeling.

It doesn’t seem to rely on a thicker formula for the plumping action but the actual formula seems to volumize lips here. Marine Sponge moisturizes and provides volume through the wear. I can get four hours of very comfortable wear out of this and a long lasting shine. On the down side, I didn’t experience crazy pouty lips but with continued use here’s to hoping I’ll have me some Angie Jolie looking lips.

The gloss has a sheer hint of pink tint. This could be to the plumping effect of the gloss that pinkens your natural lip color or it could be the little bit of tingle you’ll feel after application. Either way the effect is a nice natural pink.

If you’re a fond fan of plumping glosses you might want to give it a whirl. It’s a good deal more gentle than anything you’ve tried in the past or at least I thought so and gives just the right amount of natural pout with a nice glossy finish.

It’s available now at Sephora, Ulta, and toofaced.com

Interesting. DuWop makes me want to claw my lips off, so this might be worth trying.

I do like this, although I must admit the tingling sensation is hit and miss; weird huh? I can put it on an and be like ooh, tingles, and other times I get nada. The same goes for that plumping action. I do like it bc it’s like a gloss and I’m a lip gloss junkie 😉

same here michelle..first time nothing, second time nothing, third time got a brief tingle ;-D it seems to expand within a few seconds, like it warms up and goes glossy and wraps around lips, it’s odd! I like though!

I hate the bite or bitter taste that I get from most, but this seems like it might be the one for me! Def going to give it a try in the future. 😀

no bite with this and no weird taste either…it really seems gentle to me!?

most of lip plumpers have capsaicin (the spicy compound of pepper or pepper spray) or similar compounds. this ingredient is what causes the tingling sensation, which is due to a temporary inflammation of the lips, making them a little bigger because of increased blood flow.

i usually don’t mind this sensation, but the plumping effect it’s only minor and temporary…

Oohhhhh and here I was wondering how do lip plumpers work (never bought or used one), apparently they use capcaisin :O

might as well just eat chili lol
