Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm for Spring 2013

Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm for Spring 2013 is Urban Decay’s new BB Cream. Yup, a BB Cream from Urban Decay! Excited much?

This all in one wonder perfects, protects, treats, primers, and hydrates.

Plus it’s launching very soon!

Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm ($34) is a BB Cream with benefits according to Urban Decay. Naked Skin promises to deliver measurable anti-aging benefits. This balm diffuses light with high tech pigments to give you natural, naked look skin that keeps getting better wiseh use.

Benefits:

  • Perfects: Optical blurring pigments instantly even out skin tone while minimizing pores, fine lines, wrinkles, and redness.
  • Protects: SPF 20 protects skin from sun damage with Pepha-Protect to help inhibit DNA damage.
  • Treats:Vitasource and dGlyage firm skin, improve elastic and provide measurable anti-aging benefits.
  • Primers: Extremely blendable formula that creates a smooth, even finish so makeup goes on beautifully and stays put.
  • Hydrates: Moisturizing formula that’s not greasy or oil and improves hydration over time.

According to Urban Decay the lightweight, oil free formula proves to work instantly and over long time use in as little as eight weeks. The universal shade glides on and dries down to a translucent, flawless finish that works on most skin times with light diffusing spheres that make your skin look professionally retouched.

Urban Decay created this to use in conjunction with their Naked Foundation (or your own foundation) for the best results.

I’m terribly curious to start trying it out. It sounds amazing but does seem to defeat some of the true purposes of a BB Cream by having a translucent finish. Without coverage, it isn’t really a BB Cream but more a primer yes?

Could be hope in a bottle though because it sounds heavenly!

Review upcoming soon!

I got a sample… I wasn’t a fan.. It was clear and greasy on my skin. I’m like.. o.O this is not a bb cream!!! -_-

  • Angela

Finally a bb cream from Urban Decay. I’m actually quite excited to try this out.

  • Cindy Ramirez

I won’t pass judgement on this product till I get the Muse review, seeing as you’re the Queen of BB creams ;]

    • the Muse

I think it’s more a primer so the universal shade prob will work for everyone :-/ incredible! thanks for asking 😀 and over too fast! How about yours?

      • Cj

Oh ok that makes sense then lol

Mine was pretty boring, didn’t really do anything. My birthday was much more fun, my best friend kidnapped me and we spent literally the whole day at the spa getting every service you can think of 😛 I even chopped off my hair again!

  • Sarah

    Hey Muse,

I wondered if you could do your top 5 or so of your favorite BB creams. I am really enjoying the Skin79 one I’ve been using but I vaguely remembered you saying you didn’t enjoy the Korean BB creams as much as the Japanese ones. Just wondered what your top 5+ would be and if you’d do a post on it. I’d appreciate it, as I value your opinion.

    • the Muse

vice versa Sarah I don’t enjoy Japanese BB Creams as much as Korean ones 🙂 I’ve done a few posts mentioning favs, will try to get a new one up soon!

  • Jen

Really interested in what you have to say about this. I have seen a couple decent reviews, but you are always my final say on BBs!

  • Lauren

I tried this – I got a sample with my last UD order. It’s very runny and sheer. It didn’t do anything for me. I can’t use the Asian BB creams because I don’t like the white cast they leave (and I have a medium skin tone, so they also tend to not match). Plus they seem to all have oil (which breaks me out). Of the American BB creams, I really like the Smashbox BB cream.

    • the Muse

so far I’m getting runny and sheer too lauren, haven’t tried on my face yet…! maybe it’ll be wow awesome but not sure yet…! aw sorry 🙁 Asian BB Creams run pretty light but when you do get a match it’s just brilliance all around! ;-D I still haven’t tried my SB BB yet lol! it’s sitting in my review pile! ugh!

  • Robin

I might try it. The Naked foundation is runny, but looks pretty on my skin! It’s also the only foundation I get compliments on how great my skin looks!!!!

  • PrinceKristopher

I wouldn’t use it. It contains Isopropyl myristate…. Sad.. It looked promising. I got a deluxe sample when I placed a order on Urbans website. While I was excited to try it out I saw that it contains that EVIL Ingredient!

      • PrinceKristopher

Isopropyl Myristate is of the THE MOST pore clogging ingredients out there. If you are even the tiny bit acne prone stay away. It’s also the active ingredient in rust remover.

  • Danii

Yeah, this goes on mega orange! Phyrra has a review. She liked it but it didn’t match her at all. :/ Really disappointed but I’ll try it anyway, since I’m getting it free with my UD order. Bought The Vice palette, so excited ~

i haven’t read courtney’s review yet saw it in my reader today but didn’t grab a chance to read it..she’s SUPER fair…! so curious how it worked for her!

      • Phyrra

I like it, but I’m still deciding if it’s too dark or not. It’s not what I would consider a traditional BB Cream because it trades off the full coverage/concealer properties for the complexion perfection. However, when I wore it out for NYE I got a TON of compliments on how great my skin looked. I’ve gotta take more pictures outside in natural light.

  • BLee

Im so dry right now. My MU looks like digital breakup. 😛 Do you think this would help stop that being that it hydrates?

    • the Muse

ugh tell me about it. between the heat in my house, me being sick, and just general dry skin woe I feel like my skin is two sizes too small! not sure..I haven’t really tried it yet…it says it hydrates through the wear, that would be good if it does!

    • the Muse

I have several at the moment really love BRTC Jasmine Water and the Oriental.

  • Summer

I actually love this BB cream, and I just placed my full-size order today! I am about an NC25-30 with normal to combo skin. The once a month pimple from the dreaded cycle. Slight redness around the nose, a few pores, etc. Overall, nice skin. I got this as a sample obviously – and yes, it does appear very orange. However, it melted into my skin wonderfully and was virtually undetectable! Another blogger, Vampy Varnish, is very fair and she loves it and it looks great on her, too. So I believe their claim that the shade is mostly universal is true. It does make you look slightly airbrushed. It mattifies without being too flat. Sort of a satin finish. It smooths pores (not going to say it makes them disappear, but it definitely softens them!), and covers most redness. It’s a perfect primer! I use it with the UD Naked Skin foundation and I don’t even need to powder at all. I say “to each his own” and try it for yourself before you write it off. I wore it out on it’s own the other day and loved it.

  • brudoll

Have you tried this? Im a big fan of BB creams and thinking of purchasing this. I have an oily skin… And hope this will cover my flaw

  • sparklyblind

Darn it!! My skin went crazy and has just gotten SOOOO HORRIBLE over the past 12+ months so this will be a pass for me which is soooo sad!!! I used to be getting the nicest compliments on my skin but now it is SERIOUSLY a huge nightmare!! I’m about to try SK-II, so I’m off to see if you have ant reviews on their “Holy Water” because I am REALLY at my whits end plus it is painful!! I hardly even leave the house due to my skin!! Another reason I have super backed off my UD addiction!!! (I guess it just means more money for my Tea obsession!!) btw, I thought 20 was definitely TOO LOW for SPF these days ESPECIALLY for something they want to promote for everyday “Anti-Aging” use even in the dead of Winter. Perhaps if they had used a higher SPF the formula would have been even more weird/runny/kinda greasy situation feeling like alot of sunblocks. I always use Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Cream
SPF 50+ IT’S GREAT FOR MY SUPER GREASE Face!! 😀

I’m not crazy about the ‘universal shade’ aspect myself. I got a sample, and as I seem to recall, it went orange on me. But, I have some of the sample left so I may give it another go to make sure. I just got the Naked foundation a couple days ago. I was wondering if it needed a primer or not since it covers so well. Hmmm…
