Wet n Wild Turn Up the Volume Mascara Review

Wet n Wild Turn Up the Volume Mascara is a newly launched for Spring 2013 with the new Fergie Centerstage Collection.

At $5 this is expensive by Wet n Wild standards. If it was an incredible mascara, something you must own, five dollars would be cheap but considering the basic formula, it’s a tad on the pricey side and you can easily get something way better at the drugstores.

Just sayin’!

Wet n Wild Turn Up the Volume Mascara is marketed as a maximum volume, extreme lengthening false fiber lash extension formula. All this directly from the packaging…as you can see it’s TOO much everything and typically when you run across formulas that promise this much you end up with a rather mediocre performing product.

This comes with a curved bushy applicator. The curved design makes it easy to grab lashes at the base and pull them upwards and out. I like the brush a lot and it successfully grabs lashes and curls them upwards. The formula itself is a very lightweight texture with a non-crunchy dry down no matter how many layers you apply. That lightweight texture allows the product to keep and hold curl throughout the day.

The curved design of the brush works somewhat like your lash curler would as it has a wide curved design that will grab lashes and pull them up. This in fact creates some nice curl but for the best results use it in conjunction with your lash curler for more drama.

Volume was decent but length was mediocre. It created a fuller lash look however, nothing dramatic or bold. It did a decent job creating some length but nothing with a wow factor. You should pick it up if you like lightweight formulas that create fluttery lashes with some curl but don’t grab it because you think it’ll give you volume, length, and curl. The results overall, are merely that of a light, barely there mascara look. This makes it an excellent pick for days you’re going for a softer, natural makeup look but the mascara sadly lacks the drama when you want a little boldness with your look.

You’re probably going to run across your fair share of raves around the Internet but I personally recommend skipping it. For a fiver you can probably add a few bucks in and get yourself that performs considerably better. Just my opinion!

If you tried it already, I’d LOVE to hear your thoughts!

Available now at Walgreens.

I haven’t tried it, I am still all about my maybelline lash blast mascara, and as mascara is only really good for 3-6 months I won’t open any more until I kill this one (; When it dies I can’t wait to try another mascara though! I go for volume not length so it might work out for my needs.

I am SUPER picky about mascara’s my eyelashes are complete straight no matter what I did I couldn’t get them to stay curled until I found Wet N Wilds Mega Plump Mascara I actually got it in my xmas stocking one year and it’s the only mascara i’ll use. I went into Walgreens to pick some up when I found out that they won’t be carrying it anymore, you have no idea how heartbroken I was, I had to order from drugstore.com I did however give this mascara a shot and it does go on light and coats the lashes but it doesn’t give my lashes the staying power that they need. 🙁

I might try this mascara. I already have long thick lashes to begin with so what’s the harm right?
