Beauty Shop Scare

I have a very deep love of horror movies, gore, and being scared silly. I’ve collected issues of Fangoria from as far back as the age of 11 much to my mum’s complete confusion.

But funny thing is I’m a complete wuss. It’ll take me three or four hours to get through a ninety minute horror film because I have to pause through those parts where something jumps out at you. Or I’ll sit there watching the movie through a blanket over my head. I just hate that feeling of something jumping out at you suddenly and giving you a heart attack. That’s seriously not a great experience.

I’ve watched some foul stuff in my time particular gory foreign films but stuff jumping out at me, can’t do it.

Here’s a clip Eli Roth tweeted today that really cracked me up.

Needless to say if I was sitting in a salon having my hair done and some scary azz girl popped up in the mirror I’d hightail it out of there. No explanations.

How scary is your beauty regime? 🙂

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. I am Major Wuss… I can’t even see a trailer for a scary movie, if I am at the cinema I am going to duck my head and cover my ears. If not I am going to have nightmares about. As in I am sleeping with the lights on and with my dog. So I really admire you.

lol aw! I’m not that bad. Once I watch it I won’t really get scared after the fact just during. anything horrifying is fab I just don’t LIKE being jumped at. That really terrifies me. You should see me at events (Universal Horror Nights, etc..) I’m completely wired whenever I go, I just HATE when they jump out at you randomly. Blood Manor, I go every Halloween, is one of those places that loves to come up behind you and just jump at you…seriously I’m lucky I don’t need to be taken out on a stretcher after walking through all that ;D

Lol! Make sure to look on the news to see “local florida man arrested for tasing poor unsuspecting pranker”

Ahaha that’s so funny, especially at the end. I’m with you, I looooove horror movies! Loved them since I was little also. My problem is I don’t get scared during or after…that’s why I watch them. To see if they’ll scare me this time. I usually end up laughing at every horror scene or just sitting there emotionless. I seriously wonder about myself sometimes XD My best friend is like you though, she loves them but she hates the jumpy parts.

I wish I could say I’m unaffected…gore I’m ok with but anything that jumps out at me just scares me silly lol! ;-D

Wow, that’s some crazy stuff. Yeah, I would’ve probably ran out of that beauty shop if I saw that girl bent over coming out a la Last Exorcism and all.
Well, the inner goth in me has always LOVED vampire movies since I was about 3 yrs. old (two of my favorites being the original Fright Night- Chris Sarandon is so hot- as well as Vampire Journals [Muse, if you haven’t seen this movie then you must see it soon…the scenery is gorgeous]). But I too like watching things that scare the heck out of me. I haven’t seen Mama yet, but i did see the commercials on TV and that thing looks like it will freak me out…which means I’ll have to see it when it goes the the $1 movie theater- haha!

I have not seen Vampire Journals but have picked up the dvd on more than one occasion in a store or two. However, I am in the utmost agreement with you on Fright Night, on Chris Sarandon, glorious man! 😀 Did you see Sinister yet? That’s another one that jumps out at you and terrifies you ;D

I LOOOVE horror films, particularly foreign films since Hollywood rarely does anything for me. Eli Roth has really fallen off to the side for me. I loved Cabin Fever but now he’s… Pretty meh. Can we PLEASE stop with all the “Last Excorcism” stuff? Please? Asking nicely here! Anywhoo, you said foreign films. I like European films, such as the French film Martyrs (recommended by my sophomore history teacher!), but tend to lean more towards Korean and Japanese horror. And I do love me some Guillermo del Torro films!! I saw his student film, Chronos, a vampire film, and it was great! Mama was also pretty good but I was still more loving Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.

Oh dear Muse, you would not like me at all. I LIVE to jump out at people and scare them. But I had to stop doing it because it appears that I inadvertantly walk very quietly and scare my loved ones by accident now. My daughter, when she was very young, would say, “you jumped my eyes!!” My husband used to come home from work and I would wait for him in the closet for him to hang up his jacket. I would merely stand there when he opened the door. He would crumple almost to the ground with fear. To me it was very funny. Ironically, I cannot watch any scary movie. They give me horrible nightmares.
I hang my head in shame. Not. I laugh myself silly.

LOL you’re crazy noelle scaring people but ironically not wanting to be scared! Bad bad girl ;D

    I’d rather watch a horror film because it’ll be over in a few hours, I might have a night or two of bad/no sleep then its over. Um I couldn’t sleep a wink the entire duration of American Horror Story Seasons 1 and 2. Every night I imaged the leather suit guy coming out of my bathroom or my closet or under my bed. D;

LOL aw cindy! I WANTED the leather guy to come out of my bathroom lol!
