BRTC Jasmine Waterful Base Review & Swatches

BRTC Jasmine Waterful Base

You probably already know I’m a huge fan of BRTC Jasmine Water BB Cream so it was a logical step to purchase the new BRTC Jasmine Waterful base to use in conjunction with that BB Cream.

Considering I have dry skin the BRTC Jasmin Waterful Base sounded like an excellent way to prep skin prior to makeup application of any kind.

Turns out it’s more of a night treatment than a day one!

When they say it can multitask as a lipgloss I should have known right from the get go that it would be more suitable for night wear than day.

According to BRTC it’s best suited for those with dry, dull, lifeless skin looking to add a luminous dewiness. That’s me…! The formula is a cleared thick textured gel that resembles my beloved Hourglass No 28 Serum and Primer but has a thicker consistency.

BRTC Jasmine 3D Waterful Base

BRTC Jasmine Waterful Base Swatches

This offers intense moisture with a delicate fresh floral scent. Indeed it does everything it promises. Provides intense moisture, hydrates, and gives skin a dewy almost glossy finish. But in the long run it isn’t the type of product you want to walk out of the house with on your face. Dare I say it might be a little too moisturizing? A little too glossy…? Mmmm yeah all that…! It kinda resembles massaging lipgloss on my face which isn’t exactly pretty. Even with BB Cream on top I still feel uncomfortably overly hydrated….! And actually, if anything at all, it makes my BB Cream look uneven and even patchy….!

As a night treatment, when no one is around to witness how glossy and shiny your skin is, it works a treat at restoring much needed moisture however, as a daily primer it might prove too much even for the driest of dry skins out there.

If you have a lemming for Hourglass’s incredible No 28 Primer but not the bucks you might want to check out BRTC Jasmine Waterful Base as a slightly cheaper alternative ($21 USD at Sasa.com). Just don’t expect to walk out of the house with THIS MUCH moisture on your face…! The glossy finish is kinda scary….!

What are you using to prime and hydrate at the moment?

Do share!

I purchased this item.

Wow! I can’t believe it’s too moisturizing! That would be awesome for night time, I might have to check this out since I don’t want to use oils!

Oh my, good thing you did a review on this one. I’ve long been wanting to get the BRTC BB Cream due to rave reviews. Guess it’s really not for me as I have combination skin as I’d look like a drenched cat in this. Hahaha
