Chanel La Favorite Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour Review & Swatches
Seeking a coral lipstick for Spring? Look no further! Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Lip Colour in La Favorite is your girl!
I can’t really do bright shades of coral like this (it kinda leans toward orange) but I surely love the color. As Spring and Summer approach I’m all about peaches, corals, tangerines! La Favorite fits right in with those warm burst of color.
Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Color ($32) is a coral-orange shade with a rather soft sheen to it, interesting considering that the finish should be matte but leans towards semi-matte.
The color coverage is incredible and a single swipe produces medium to full pigmentation in a non-drying formula that glides onto lips beautifully. Typically, matte formulas are very dry for me and tug as I apply. This had no such issues, the texture is buttery smooth and soft on my lips.

Interestingly enough the lipstick has an incredible wear within the first two hours but it begins to dry up on my lips after hour three and four. A little lip balm prior to application or gloss on top does keep things fresh however, without, I find that it goes quite dry on me. Outside of this minor quirk it’s one of the most pleasant matte lipsticks I’ve had the pleasure of using.
La Favorite is a gorgeous corally orange very fitting with Spring looks. The color is vibrant, saturated, and true the tube.
If you’re shopping corals at the moment you might wish to check this one out. It’s available with the Chanel Spring 2013 Makeup Collection which is available now on counter as well as at Chanel.com
