Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector

Three new shades of Clarins Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector ($22) joins the catalog for Spring 2013 including Rosewood Shimmer my new go to nude lip color.

You know me always on the look out for the perfect shade of nude lipgloss or lipstick that doesn’t make me look like the living dead with bad chapped lips. “Arggggg brains…argggggg chapped lips….”

Zombies get chapped lips too.

Being a big lover of Clarins glosses and lipsticks I’m utterly shocked I haven’t tried Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector prior to this…but now that I have I’m a fan girl!

These come with a slanted sponge applicator and a tube you squeeze to get product flowing into that applicator. How very 1980’s! I haven’t owned a gloss that you squeeze to disperse in many a fine year, not since Natural Glow I believe.

I find the squeeze method pretty damn awesome as I don’t have to struggle with pumping a sponge applicator in and out of a tube of gloss to get the best saturation. This is a matter of squeezing, applying, and re-squeezing to build should I like. I just feel like I have more control over the gloss this way. However, on the downside, I feel like I go through the gloss quicker with this style of packaging.

Clarins Rosewood Shimmer Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector Rosewood Shimmer

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector has a slight stickiness but nothing too uncomfortable. It’s weightless with a vanilla caramel-like flavor and scent that’s quite pleasant but could prove an annoyance for those sensitive to scented and flavored gloss products.

These have a plush feel much like Benefit Ultragloss but a little thinner in consistency. Rosewood Shimmer (where’s the shimmer? I must have missed it) is a rosy nude beige shade that does a great nude gloss look for me without looking zombified. Pigment was opaque without any shimmer but more of a creamy finish. Odd shimmer is in the name!

Wear time is a sturdy three to four hours so long as you don’t eat or drink during the wear.

Overall, I’d say Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector is a rather nice gloss! Do check out Rosewood Shimmer when it launches next month at your local Clarins counter.

Petal Shimmer and Candy Shimmer are also two other new shades popping up.

I kinda hoped to see a picture of you with the gloss on. It’s an interesting color and I wonder how it looks on the lips 🙂

when you said “odd shimmer” i read “ood shimmer.” Didn’t realizes Ood’s could shimmer =)

If you ever get around to trying some of the Nyx Butter Glosses, I found Tiramisu to make for a good nude gloss. As in, it seemed to have enough brownish/neutralish pigment to it to help make my (naturally) brightly pigmented lips look more “nude,” without being so opaque it started making me look unnatural and weird.

I just bought my first lip perfector around a month ago! Looove iit! I got it in Petal Shimmer ( 04 or 05 can’t really remember Xp). They actually have shimmer but its closer to tiny pearly shimmer, its not meant to be noticeable just reflect the li ght thereby maki g your lips look better before they get better ^^ I love it that way 🙂 makes em looks super healthy :D!

If you haven’t yet put it on right before you go to bed, when I do my lips are so pretty plump and healthy when I wake up!! <3
