Clarins Eclat Face and Blush Powder

Just when I think I’m done with Clarins face palettes they pull me back in. The delightful Clarins Palette Eclat Face & Blush Powder for Spring 2013 may look very similiar to limited edition face palettes you already own but rest easy knowing this one produces a beautifully peachy glow that makes it a must have.

At a glance I thought it looked a little similiar to the Clarins Odyssey Face Palette but in fact it sports a more subtly pigmented finish that makes it an instant hit for fresh, naturally flushed cheeks for Spring.

Heavy handed? The Clarins Palette Eclat Face & Blush Powder is for you!

Clarins Palette Eclat Face & Blush Powder ($35) is delightfully scented like violets, comes housed in its own velvety pocket sleeve, and sports a gold elegant mirrored compact. Inside you’ll be privy to a floral design gracing a beige peach powder and tiny strips of darker peach and pink. At first I thought those strips were an over spray but they actually run right through the powder and give a little boost of color to the dominate beige peach shade.

Now this is best suited for fair, medium, or lightly tanned skin as it might not show up on anyone darker sadly. However, if you fit in with this demographic you’ll be delighted with the peach flush it gives to cheeks. It’s a very natural finish that never looks overly done. I’m quite heavy handed so a blush like this is a god sent particularly when I tend to go a little too dramatic with my blush, eyes, and lips…this is great for those days you’re sporting a heavier lip or eye look as it gives just enough of a natural flush without looking extreme or bold.

The powder is a finely milled, silky texture that applies and blends easily. The fragrance is delightful however, those sensitive to scented powder might want to sniff it on counter prior to a purchase. Pigment is sheer overall, but tinted enough that color can be seen on cheeks depending on your skin tone.

Overall, this one is a keeper! I thought perhaps it would be a little repetitive of Clarins but actually it turned into a perfect little blusher that will likely become something I use daily.

Muse, you are opening my eyes to all things Clarins. I never gave a thought to the brand before I came here. Now I want everything! That flush looks absolutely gorgeous on you!

Wow! That gives u such a natural beautiful flush of color, and I adore the beautiful floral print with those oddly charming stripes of color!

Too bad I’m darker than the blush, lol. It’d look like a highlighter marker on my cheeks!
However, it looks like a lovely product for u fairer skinned ladies!

Suuuuper pretty but my boyfriend already said he would give me money to get the Sweethearts blush from Too Faced. The deal is I buy and wrap it, he gives it to me for Valentine’s Day and I act surprised. 😛 I also kind of can’t afford this, and I’d be too busy staring at it to use it! I don’t have luxurious makeup like this. My most luxurious items are a realTechniques powder brush and The Vice Palette in my opinion.

Oooh need this and need it bad! I am totally with you on the Clarins Face Palettes. I was starting to get really bored with them but this one is stunning!!

What make up base are you wearing? You have flawless skin. I love that radiant finish. I hope it is oil free. I will buy this powder as I too love Clarins-does it have shimmer in it? Thanks! <3

    • the Muse

i’ve been using the l’oreal miracle blur libby! kinda loving that stuff lately ;-D Thanks! no shimmer, it’s a satin finish, almost semi-matte.

I’ve never tried Clarins before and this is the 2nd time I’ve heard about this blush. It looks soooo pretty! Think I’ll try this out along with some lipsticks. I’m NC25 so hopefully this will look good on me!

Hello Muse! I got a few samples of the Miracle Blur from the sales lady at Rite Aid near my home. She works in cosmetics and knows my skin concerns really well. She insisted I try it before purchasing it. I woke up with some cystic acne around my t-zone. Ouch!!! Maybe it was the combo of this with the Mally Pore Defender that clogged my pores? Anyway, it did make my skin look flawless while it lasted. My skin reacts so badly to so many good products. So sad. 🙁

    • the Muse

oh no sorry Libby! I didn’t have any problems at all with either products, I really can’t say if it will or won’t clog your pores, it’s hard to say how something will react to someone else’s skin type. 🙁 perhaps avoid it, as the silicone is perhaps what caused the issue!

Great review Muse! On impulse I purchased this and Sweet Rose lipstick from the Spring collection. They are my first cosmetic purchases from Clarins ever and not my last. This palette imparts a lovely flush of matte peach pink on my very pale complexion, I literally glow with radiance. The lippie is subtle and in no way boring but I’m getting used to the finish which claims to be satin but is slicker than I had hoped. Both are keepers and have gotten me excited about the change of season. Being a lover of winter this is a good thing.

    • the Muse

yay seven happy to hear it my dear 😀 that’s great news! I personally love fall/winter too ;-D
