Dior Capture Totale Multi-Perfection Makeup Base Review & Swatches
Dior Capture Totale Multi-Perfection Makeup Base is one of the nicest primers I’ve run across in a while. I’ve fallen into my little grove lately of using either L’Oreal’s new Miracle Blur or Revlon Photoready Primer and wasn’t exactly in the market for anything new. I’m quite happy with both of these as is.
But when Dior Capture Totale Multi-Perfection Makeup Base rolled across my desk with it’s rather addicting fresh floral scent (they should bottle this up as a fragrance) I was all about trying it on for size. At $52 it isn’t the cheapest facial primer around but it is however, well worth picking up if you desire a more makeup free existence.
Yup, makeup-free. I said it. Although created to act as an SPF and makeup base in one this lightweight makeup primer actually looks so amazing on just cleansed skin you might want to moisture, prep with it, and go.
This is a lightweight pale pink shade with a thin creamy texture that absorbs easily into skin. According to Dior it deemphasizes dark areas and imperfections while prepping skin for makeup.
This base adds density to the skin, regaining firmness and revitalizing the facial contours while plumping, smoothing, and illuminating for a radiant look.
As a primer it works to prolong your makeup which surprisingly, for such a hydrating formula, it does. Typically hydrating primers act great to moisturize my face and ease the way for my foundations but don’t always prolong their wear. However, Dior Capture Totale Multi-Perfection Makeup Base extends the wear by at least two more hours. It leaves my face delicately hydrated and dewy to the touch so BB Creams and foundations have a smoother, softer appearance particularly around drier areas of my face.
What I really love about it is the fact that it eases dullness and brightens my complexion dramatically. My face looks flawless with a little bit of this and some blush which is quite impressive as I typically rely on BB Cream to ease dullness.
Although meant as a primer it’ll easily work as a lighter base for cream blushes when you want to do a natural, no makeup look on the go. Below I’m wearing it, nothing else, with blush and a little eye makeup. It makes my fresh look fresh and quite flawless with a brighter finish.
At $52 I was a little scared of the price as I’ve never spent more than $40 on a primer but I WILL definitely purchasing this again and recommend checking it out. If you already have fairly decent skin that doesn’t need a ton of coverage this will work great at not not only creating a solid base for your foundations and BB Creams to adhere to but also to act as a lightweight makeup of sorts on days you can’t be bothered to do an entire face.
Love this stuff.
Well worth picking up.
