Dior Cherie Bow Blush Review & Swatches

Dior Cherie Bow Blush 1

Dior Cherie Bow Blush ($43) recently launched with the Dior Spring 2013 Makeup Collection. Suddenly, my world feels like it needs more pink blush in it and my first stop was the Cherie Bow Blush!

This graduating shade of blush has two finishes, two textures, and two shades (from lighter to darker) to create a playful flush of color on cheeks!

Graduating shades of blushes aren’t something I typically love using as I end up just swirling the shades together because I find it too difficult to use them separately. I have no such issues with the Dior Cherie Bow Blush! I love that I can swipe my brush across either shade and go from darker to lighter and shimmer to no shimmer in a simple swipe.

The blush is divided into two parts, split right down the middle, into two shades and two finishes. One side contains a rosy satiny almost semi-matte finished blush where as the other is a shy shade lighter with a shimmering finish. You can swirl the shades together to create a rosy glow on cheeks or you can use them separately for a sheer touch of shimmering rosy glow or a deeper rose glow sans sparkle.

The texture is finely milled yet densely packed so I found it a little challenging to pick up color with a bushier brush. If you have a dense blush brush that’s the best way to apply as you can swipe it across the powder a few times and pick up more color than a bushier blush brush would.

The color is sheer but can be built up to a gorgeous glow. I find this shade of pink very natural and true to my coloring should you make me blush (I typically turn rosy pink 🙂 when I’m embarrassed or in love or out in the cold!).

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. MUSE STOP POSTING PICTURES ABOUT BLUSHES </3

Aha. Kidding. In all seriousness though, I've been wanting to pick myself up a blush or two this coming Valentine's (I've been using Nars Orgasm by itself for far too long now and it needs a friend)…any tips from the Muse herself? There's too many gorgeous ones up here for me to decide anymore D:

    =) Thankyous~

Another great review – thanks Muse! Your lips look gorgeous – what colour is that? It’s fantastic!

    • the Muse

aw thanks michelle! it’s actually a tarte Pure Performance 12-Hour Lipstick the shade name I can’t recall at the moment ;-D will update you when I get home to look!

  • Kathleen

That’s so pretty! Normally I don’t give Dior’s blushes a second glance, but I love it on you. I think my NARS blush palette might be jealous that I’m writing this, but I really don’t need any more blushes at this point. I would rather feed my lipstick addiction. It’s very hungry.

aw thanks kathleen you’re too kind ;-D LOL! I’m a blush and eyeshadow girl myself!
