Dior Couture Colour Eyeshadow Palette Cherie Bow Edition Review & Swatches
I have a thing for hot pink eyes this Spring contrasted with black and the new Dior Couture Colour Eyeshadow Palette Cherie Bow Edition in Rose Charmeuse is the perfect way to get the look.
I would never think hot pink and black would be a good pairing but I must say it makes my brown eyes look huge and sultry!

Soft shades of pink and smoky grey play in this new Dior Couture Colour Eyeshadow Palette Cherie Bow in Rose Charmeuse for Spring 2013. Inspired by The House of Diors Iconic symbol, the bow, this palette combines combines a playful bit of pink with a traditional smoky eye.
The palette features five shades of color with two dual sponge applicators for application. Four of the shades have a houndstooth pattern which doesn’t swipe easily away. The little touch of houndstooth is cute and quite preppy, it lends a certain playfulness to the shadows. If you’re a sucker for details you’re bound to love this extra touch.
Shadow shades include a pale pink shade, a true baby pink, a golden beige shimmer, a matte black, and a bright fuchsia pink. I think using them all in a single look proves rather easy although the golden beige (smack in the center) is slightly off for me in terms of the other colors contrasting with it. It’s also a little gritty in comparison to the other smoother shades and has a good deal of chunky glitter.
The top two shades of paler pink are a tad frosty which is something I’ve come to expect from Dior. However, the bottom black and fuchsia have a soft easy to blend formula. From light to darkest all the shades have excellent pigmentation and an easy to blend formula with an almost creamy-like texture.
To create my look I used black on the outer v blended into my crease and into the fuchsia which I used in the inner lid. I highlighted my highbrow with the pale pink and lined my lower lash line with the baby pink. I think the fuchsia and black pair up rather well together and I got similiar results when using shades like this with the new Dior Twin Duo Eyeshadows.
I had minor issues with fading if I didn’t prep well prior as the colors seemed to loose some of their intensity at around hour five without primer but no problems with creasing.
Overall, I think the Dior Couture Colour Eyeshadow Palette Cherie Bow Edition is an interesting mesh up of colors. It’s something I wouldn’t typically think to use as a Spring look but I must admit the bright pink with the black accents is quite funky and dare I say edgy for Dior. The $61 price tag (I remember at some point these were $50 or so) does make me wince slightly so a shave off of $10-$15 would make them a little friendly for everyone to enjoy.
If you’re looking for something a little difference this spring with some boldness and playfulness, I think Dior has you covered with this palette!
