Goody QuikStyle Absorbent Microfiber Bristles Paddle Brush

What if I told you that you can brush your hair and dry it at the same time? That’s exactly what the new Goody Quik Style Absorbent Microfiber Bristles Paddle Brush does! It’s like a towel and a brush all in one.

This brush was specially formatted to not only brush your hair but also to absorb water by up to 30% using special Absorbent Microfibers embedded into the bristles of the brush.

Interesting right?

Goody Quik Style Absorbent Microfiber Bristles Paddle Brush styles hair as it absorbs excess water so it acts as a brush and a towel all in one. Absorbent microfiber material is embedded into the bristles of the brush so as you stroke it through your hair fibers pick up and absorb excess water. Side vents allow for air flow and allow the water to drain out and the lightweight fibers are designed to air dry quickly after use (or you can blast it with your hair drier which fluff the fibers back up as it dries them).

I’ve never personally used anything like this brush before. I was a little worried it would tangle in my hair and indeed it did. It has a little bit of a learn curve to use it correctly but once you get a hang of it you’ll be left wondering how you lived without it.

Now you can’t fully dry your hair using the brush, obviously, you can however, reduce excess water as you blow dry and style OR you can style damp hair and reduce the water your hair has absorbed.

I typically shower in the AM and never rely on a hair dryer. I’m just an air dry kinda girl. This is excellent way to get much of the excess water out of my hair that my towel hasn’t absorbed for me.

As I said there is a learning curve to stroking just the right away so you aren’t tearing huge chunks of hair out of your head. This is the case if you have longer, curlier hair. If you have a pixie cut, shorter, or straighter hair you’ll be fine. The best way to hand the brush is to stroke through hair at an angle and go slowly at first picking up speed once all the tangles are out of your hair.

It’s actually a nifty brush once you get the knack for using it.

This one is worth checking out!

Likey!

I have been interested in that brush for awhile. Sadly the price makes me walk away. I think last I saw it, it was well over $10. With that kind of price tag, it should wash, dry, and style my hair for me. Good review though. Thanks!

I tried it through Influenster and it was okay. It helped me detangle my hair – and definitely helps get rid of some water. The bristles definitely don’t look like that anymore either lol.

I’ve been trying to stay away from heating tools (even my blow dryer) but do you think the towel bit would get a little weird after a while? It just irks me that you can’t exactly throw the brush into the dryer :p

    • the Muse

I do think so Lauren not sure how it would look after a month or more of use!

      • Linzy

I have it and have had it for over 6 months after tons of hair dyes and tons of uses later it still does its job

I received it through Influenster but didn’t care for it at all while my hair is damp, which is sort of the point of the microfiber worms. I do like using it while my hair is dry since it’s larger than my other brush.

I have the paddle brush and I love it. I thought it was a little awkward at first, but now I use it everyday!

Looks interesting. My hair takes FOREVER to dry 🙁 One question, how would we clean this brush to reduce the amount of bacteria? It seems like a sponge/towel that could collect more bacteria than a normal brush. Just wondering 🙂

    • the Muse

elizabeth not really sure they say a quick burst to dry it using the blow drier but what about air drying? that would def be a prob with bacteria. I think perhaps a six month period you’d have to purchase another one? I’m not really sure…I do worry it might get icky with daily use.

I’ve got one that was given to me as a stocking stuffer at Christmas. I haven’t used it yet, though, since I have extremely short hair and usually only use a comb.

We had this brush for my daughter to use at summer camp. It worked great but after two weeks at camp we tossed it. It smelled really musty. You really have to dry the brush out.

  • Majick

I think this just seems like an extra gimmick that would get gross really quickly unless you washed it with your makeup brushes once a week.

I use an Aquii (spelling?) Towel. All I do is wrap it turban style, finish brushing my teeth, facial skincare, body moisturizer, etc. and then I take the towel off and my hair is at the damp stage. AT this point I either scrunch it a little and go wavy, or I blow it out straight. It really cuts the blow drying in half.

I don’t know… the idea of not being able to take the towel-ey part off to wash just doesn’t seem very hygienic to me… feels like it can trap a lot of gunk and bacteria in it 🙁

  • AME

I have the comb version, because I couldn’t convince myself that the little towel bits wouldn’t get moldy!

  • Abigail

I have the large flat brush and use it every day. My hair is long and since I don’t like to use the blow dryer it takes a long time for my hair to fully dry. This brush has really reduced my drying time significantly. I also have the Goody QUIK STYLE™ Water Wicking Detangling Comb that I use in the shower before I step out.
Highly recommend these products. Stay Beautiful!

  • Lauren

Considering how bad it is to brush your hair when it’s wet as opposed to combing it, I am quite baffled by this product. Not to mention how unsanitary this must be – yuck.

      • Lauren

For me, with my insanely coarse thick hair that gets fried from nothing at all, like literally, it doesn’t matter if I get my hair trimmed every 4 weeks and don’t color it or heat style it, my hair is DEAD within two weeks. Adding the fact that I regularly highlight my hair now, my hair is always fried so I do everything I can to make sure it doesn’t start like falling out on me, haha – since my hair is naturally really wavy, I either use a wide tooth comb when I get out of the shower, or I don’t comb it at all which also isn’t good. I lose either way, haha. 🙂

        • the Muse

you don’t comb it at all!? gosh I could not get away with that…I typically brush through it after my shower. I have very long, wavy hair, good deal of curl, dry, no dying..thankfully brushing through I lose very minimal hair…if I left it and didn’t brush through I’d end up with a bird’s nest lol ;D
