Lorac Touch-Up To Go Foundation

Lorac Touch-Up To Go is a new click pen foundation that the brand released for Spring 2013. Touch-Up to Go isn’t an innovative foundation product by any means as brands have embraced click style pens a plenty in the foundation world. The funny thing about these style foundations is that they are almost always an excellent formula for me and Lorac’s is no different.

Lorac Touch-Up To Go

Take a look!

Lorac Touch-Up To Go ($28) is available in twelve shades and features an oil, paraben, and fragrance-free formula packed with vitamins A & E, acai berry, white and green tea.

Now they get slightly off track with the formula as they market it as a foundation and concealer product all in one. At first I thought they were addressing concealing issues on one’s face but no they actually mean under eyes as well.

Lorac Touch-Up To Go Foundation Pencil

Ummm no. It’s far too sheer a product to use under your eyes particularly if you have a ton going on under their. I personally want to conceal minor dark circles, some puffiness, and fine lines. My eyes tend to look tired without concealer and I rely on my concealer to perfect them. Sadly, this is too sheer a product for me to be comfortable concealing with. If you use minimal concealer daily, mmmm….it might just work out for you but if you’re a fuller coverage concealer girl I’d say no, this won’t multitask.

Some people are going to love this and some people won’t. It really depends on what you want from your foundation product. I personally love it because it provides sheer coverage that perfects but doesn’t offer major coverage. This is what I expect and want from base products. I don’t want a ton of foundation on my face because I don’t need it. I do however, want something to brighten my face, ease dullness, and make my skin look alive and awake. This provides all that. It does not however, offer coverage for acne scarring, darkness, or major issues. If you reply on your foundation to conceal major problems you won’t like how sheer this is.

This comes in a larger click style pen with a brush applicator. You click, product flows into the brush head, you swipe on, you blend out, you go! Done. Easy! Unfortunately the brush head doesn’t remove so it isn’t washable. I simply wipe it clean with a makeup wipe after each use. Product does flow quickly to the brush head so be careful! It also tends to drip off as the formula is creamy yet very runny. I clicked it and it dripped right onto my shirt. Just be careful. I tend to click a few times to get products like this started however, this requires maybe three clicks before product flows out so be careful not to get it on yourself, your clothes, etc…

As I mentioned the texture is creamy but it is quite runny. It has a nice hydrating dewy to the touch finish but isn’t oily nor greasy. It does not have a shiny finish either simply a soft, smooth dewy feel. I’d recommend it for those with drier skin however, oily skin might feel its a touch too moisturizing especially if you prefer a more mattifying foundation. It absorbs easily into my skin and leaves lightweight coverage behind. Again, as I mentioned, it merely perfects. So it does brighten and creates a nice flawless canvas for my makeup while easing my dullness and waking up my lackluster skin. It won’t however, offer buildable coverage. Or at least I don’t feel it will. The pigmentation just isn’t here for more than sheer coverage.

Overall, I personally loved it. It’s lightweight, very breathable, easy to apply, and my dry skin just sucks it up. It pretty much sticks to what I want and need in my foundation products. Sheer yet able to tackle dullness and brightens. If you desire more lightweight coverage this is a great pick. Especially as the weather becomes warmer!

It’s available now at Sephora or online at loraccosmetics.com

I know it’s a typo, but a formula with “white and green teeth” has me giggling a bit! That must be Lorac Halloween 2013!

My concern with these would be how quickly you’d run out of product – there’s only 0.20oz in the pen, whereas most foundations have 1oz or more. Are these designed to be used in combination with another foundation, or just on their own?

    • the Muse

on their own as a foundation blue and yeah, there isn’t a lot in these unfortunately 🙁

Love the applicator! Definitely will check it out but a little concern for my oily skin.

I bought this and while I really like the formula the jury is out on whether I will repurchase. It is sheer so it doesn’t do a great job of concealing but it does help freshen your face mid day. Especially after lunch, it’s easy to carry for a touch up.

I had a problem with product coming out the other day but I had neglected to use it so maybe it just settled. After a few pumps it was working again.

I like this pen but I’m just not sure I NEED it.

I got the lightest color and sadly it was well pink… Not pink tone but literally pink like a pink highlighter. So I had to return 🙁 which sucks cause I love the idea of foundation pens, I’m actually thinking of getting the Ellis faas one…. Just need to justify that price tag lol

Love this review and this pen!

I use 1 click for under eyes and in my T-zone and 2 clicks if I want all over coverage. I also love to pair it with my LORAC Double Feature Concealer for blemishes. I love how it covers up fine lines around my mouth and forehead too.

@blueracoon I also was concerned with the size, but 2 months into it and I’m still clicking! Once a week I wash the brush and it’s good as new.
