MAC Archie’s Girl Lipglasses Review & Swatches

There are six lovely lipglasses to choose from when the MAC Archie’s Girl Collection launches later this week on counter and in stores. Three belong to the lovely Betty and three to the sultry, wicked Veronica.

I’m probably more a Veronica myself but I love Betty’s colors so much…(even though they don’t quite work on me).

Here’s a little look at the lipglasses launching with the MAC Archie’s Girls Collection.

One of my good friend’s convinced me that I should love MAC Lipglass. I’ve always felt it was incredibly sticky and unpleasant to wear but actually, I’ve made my peace with it, she’s right, it really is a superior lipgloss. Shine, color, and a really long wear time thanks to all that tackiness really makes it one of MAC’s winning products. You might not love a sticky gloss but facts are facts, that stickiness allows lipglass to wear well over a four hour period (without eating or drinking) without needing a touch up. Embrace the tack my dears, becomes friends with it.

Summer Sweatheart, Feelin’ So Good, Kiss & Don’t Tell

Looks like Ronnie’s brunette status means she gets the wilder, bolder reds and grapes in the collection with Betty rocking the nudes and corals. I can’t say any of Betty’s shades looks fab on me and heck, the one I tried from Veronica wasn’t terribly great either but these are unique shades of color if nothing else.

Kiss & Don’t Tell (Betty) is a lively bright coral. It kinda reminds me of a bright coral melon. The color is a creamy, opaque finish gloss with minor patchiness during application however, building up produces the best results. The color has a stronger warmer undertones but somehow works out cooler as well, it seems to rely on your skin tone to reflect back its undertone.

Summer Sweatheart (Betty), also a cream finish, is a sheerer shade of light beige peach. I liked this shade the least as it was a tad too mod on me (zombie lips! ahhhh!) however, some lovely fair of skin chica will think it the very nicest MLBB (my lips but better) lip color I’m sure.

And finally Feelin’ So Good (Veronica) is a blackened purple which I’m looking all scary in below. This was the worst of the glasses I tried as it takes a little work to get it fully opaque without looking patchy. It takes a few applications but with a little work it actually has a rather nice and unique finish.

Overall, it looks like the MAC Archie’s Girls Collection has some nice unique shades to indulge in. I have my eye on Strawberry Malt and will pick it up tomorrow when it launches on counter.
