Masque Bar by Look Beauty Brightening Sheet Mask Review
Target has a new Masque Bar by Look Beauty in stores this Spring that are sure to please sheet mask lovers. I tried out the Look Beauty Brightening Sheet Mask recently.
If you’re used to hauling 10 or more sheet masks in a box for around $8-$12 from Asia, Masque Bar might prove a tad expensive at a three set for $9.99 but they are far more easier to get your hands on. The budget world is sadly lacking in sheet masks here in the US. What’s common in the Asian market is sadly lacking in our own. I personally purchase sheet masks from a variety of sources but most of that shopping is done online with airmail fees involved.
It’s rather novel to be able to walk into my local Target and shop for a facial sheet mask. And most recently Walmart started selling My Beauty Diary online. I hope more beauty budget brands catch up.
So how are the Masque Bar by Look Beauty Sheet Masks?

Masque Bar by Look Beauty has a wide variety of mask formulas including lifting masks, pore refining, and in the case of my review a Brightening Formula.
Masque Bar by Look Beauty Brightening Sheet Masks come in a box of three for $9.99 with a formula that helps to minimize the appearance of dark spots and hyper pigmentation while brightening your entire face.
It contains very similiar ingredients to a My Beauty Dairy Mask including orange extract, licorice root, and Vitamin C.
The masks remind me of some my earlier experiences with My Beauty Diary as these have a thicker cotton fiber and are less than saturated. They do have a wet feel but not nearly as saturated as some Asian Sheet Masks I’ve been privy too. They have a rather poor fit as the mouth area is a little too large which leaves the mask hanging off the side of your mouth. The thicker texture of the mask doesn’t exactly allow the essence to absorb fully into your skin so pressing your palms against it through the wear will help.
The mask is meant to be worn for 20-30 minutes. You can follow up with your regularly nightly skincare after. I didn’t see any results at first use but the AM after use my face appeared brighter although I think for it to deal with dark spots or hyper pigmentation I’d have to use it more regularly and so far I’ve only used one mask.
Overall, these are a convenient option if you’re in Target and have the need to spoil your skin. The price is a little high but by US standards it is cheap. On the downside, the fit on the mask is really rather bad and these aren’t comparable to Asian Sheet Masks in the least as they are drier (a little more essence does a body good) and the thicker cotton makes it difficult for the little essence they are saturated with harder to absorb into skin. They are however, a good try. Since Masque Bar is fairly new I imagine with a little tweaking they can definitely do better! The formula seems good as my face was brighter in the AM after a single use…..there are just a few quirks that need ironing out to get these down right.
