Maybelline Color Goes Electric Collection for Spring 2013

Maybelline Color Goes Electric Collection

I ran across the display for the new Maybelline Color Goes Electric Collection yesterday at Harmons. This is a limited edition Spring 2013 Collection which includes shadow palettes, blushes, and new Vivid Lipstick shades in limited edition shades.

Take a peek!

I thought the star of the display were the gorgeous blush colors! I did pick up some of the Vivids Lipsticks as well since their was a wearable shade of red or two in the mix. Interesting enough for such a loud, bold color collection some of the eyeshadow palettes were a tad uneventful and not nearly as vibrant as the rest of the collection.

I’ll be reviewing the products I hauled from this collection shortly! I can’t wait to try the blushes particularly the Coral Burst shade which is a gorgeous vivid orange.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. You know, I’m a complete dolt. I was at Walgreens and where they usually have the new displays I found all of these pieces nicely placed together, but not on a display. I was looking at the blushes and lipsticks going “Are these new colors?” but convinced myself they were regular colors. I should have went with my gut instinct!

I bought the green eyeshadow quad in Electric Emerald thinking it was new. Just a heads up, it’s exactly the same as their permanent quad in Green With Envy. I was a little bummed that they took an existing product and marked it as limited edition with a new name.

burp. that sucks. I didn’t even glance at them tbh but didn’t they label them as LE?

I noticed the same thing.. they just switched the two middle colors. BOO! I have not seen them in person but Violet Volt is very similar to Purple Icon as well.. with only the darkest color being significantly different. The neutral palette is gorgeous though, just saw a review/demo today.

These kind of displays always get my attention but I rarely buy any. I guess I figure they aren’t that different than the usual. I guess my feeling was fairly accurate at least in some instances. I’ll look closer at the next one as it seems I could be missing out by not even checking though. Thanks
