Maybelline Coral Burst Blush Review & Swatches
Coral Burst Blush is one of three new limited edition shades released with the Maybelline Goes Electric Collection for Spring 2013.
Being obsessed with all things coral this was something that stuck out for me as a must have. I’m really upset with myself at the moment as I ran across two full displays and only hauled one. This is the type of shade you’ll want to have a back up of as it truly is a unique color.
Take a peek!
Although entitled Coral Burst this is most definitely a hot neon orange. It sizzles! I absolutely adore it and want to tell it daily how beautiful it is just in case it forgets.
It can easily be over done on fairer skin so do use a light hand during application. I’ve heard the whisper of it being a NARS Orgasm dupe but that’s blasphemy. The shade is in no way like Orgasm. It’s loud, bold, and outrageous. When I say neon, truly I mean neon! It has a very faint golden undertone that makes the shade a little more wearable for me.
The baked formula is silky smooth and for such a loud shade it blends fairly easily into skin without looking patchy or uneven. The shade comes across a lighter peach on my cheeks due to how light handed I was with application. I was a little scared of the shade in all honesty as it is highly pigmented and easy to get wrong.
If you’re tanned, caramel, or darker it’ll be the most flattering. The shade will compliment such a skin tone in a dramatic punch of color.
Overall, Coral Burst is one of thee most unique shades of orange I’ve come across in my blush world. It’s deserving of a back up and I’m disappointed I didn’t take advantage when I did (I bet it is long gone now if I go back!). This is a shade I don’t want to live without.
