Milani Ultrafine Liquid Eye Liner Spring 2013

The new Milani Ultrafine Liquid Eye Liner Collection is a brand new range of liquid liners launching for Spring 2013. Milani is all kinds of legendary for creating some of thee most fabulous eyeliner pencils around.

I happen to be anti-liquid liner because I can’t apply it worth a damn. My hand gets all kinds of shaky when I’m anywhere near it, I feel too MADE up with it in place, and I definitely haven’t mastered the “flick” to get down the perfect cat eye look!

But I decided to give Milani Ultrafine Liquid Eye Liner a chance anyway!

Milani Ultrafine Liquid Eye Liner

Milani promises a long lasting, waterproof formula with these new Ultrafine Liquid Eye Liner. Funny story, they remove EASILY without a ton of tugging or rubbing….typically waterproof liquid eyeliner proves difficult to remove at times but these seriously have very little fuss during removal which adds a plus to them in my book.

They have a felt-tip for application that can be used to apply a thinner or a thicker line. They have a vinyl almost glossy finish with some shades containing a good deal of sparkle. Black applies best for me in a single stroke however, some of the colored versions did need to be relined for the best color pay off. Although pigmented I get a little streaky-ness with the colored variations versus the plain old standard black.

I’m not any great expert on liquid eyeliners but I’m not terribly keen on this formula. It dries down to a plastic-like finish so you get a little flaky action going on as the day progresses. If you wanted to you can probably easily peel it away rather than wash it off. It doesn’t smudge nor does the color fade as the day goes on but it does however, flake a little bit.

If you’re interested in Make Up For Ever’s more expensive range of Aqua Liners these new Milani Eye Liners might just fill your beauty sweet tooth at a mere $7.49 each.

They launch soon at drugstores.

I saw these by me and picked up the Black Vinyl – the non-shimmery one, anyway – and I haven’t tried it on my eyes yet but on my wrist I wasn’t impressed. It seemed faded and I couldn’t get a straight line with the thickness I wanted, although that may just be me and my butterfingers. But I have other eyeliners that apply a lot better on my wrist, so I doubt I’ll reach for this often.

let me know what you think after you apply on eyes blue, I experienced a bit of flaking, it has a weird plastic-y dry down…! not exactly the best finish.

The colors look lovely but flakey eyeliner is a no no, I think I’ll skip this one. Their eyeliner pencils, I love though!

  • Phyrra

I loved the teal. It lasted all day on me and even with my oil makeup remover, it was hard to get off. I didn’t experience it flaking on me.

hey court! happy to hear it ;-D didn’t work so great on me sadly, had to reline the colored ones a few times for best pop and had an oddly textured dry down that made it flake off a bit. could be my skin type though who knows ;-D I’m just glad they worked out for you!

They launched here already at my CVS and they have bogo 50% off and CVS sent me a 20% off of a 30.00 or more order and I got a lots of the Milani. The new liner above in purple, lip liners, lip sticks, & eye primer too. 45% off made me happy 😀 I have not tried the liner yet as I just got it today.

    • BLee

Well, I sure did like the color and had no problems with the liner flaking, BUT Im allergic to it, OMG!! Had red itchy eyes today and no eye makeup on because of the reaction. 😛

        • BLee

Glad it was just that and not a infection. But this has never happened to me before and it’s just wild. But getting better already. Had the day off from work. LOL that was the only good thing about it. 🙂

I am so glad I read your review, Muse. I have a thing for purple eyeliners and although I had this very product in my hand, I put it back on the display; I truly do not want glitter in my eyeliner. I was debating going back and getting it, but after seeing the swatches I am going to skip. Thanks a bunch for saving me the $!

my pleasure! I think they have way better liners available in their catalog than these, just didn’t like them! I’m no expert on liquid liners but the formula was a tad runny to me and it had an odd dry down :-/

  • Christina

Okay, Muse, I have an update…after realizing I had several CVS coupons due to expire tomorow, I stopped in to find the Milani display added an eyeshadow primer to the new product line-up. The primer is a no brainer purchase so, since Milani is buy one, get one half this week, I purchased the purple liner, too. Sigh. I’ve already admitted to having a weakness for purple liners (shadows, too), so I suppose it was inevitable. Besides, I’m pretty darn good with liquid liner and I will make it work, dammit!

  • Jenny

True story – these are my favorite type of eyeliners. They’re the only kind of formula I can wear without a primer. Actually, they’re the only kind of eye makeup (minus mascara, of course) that I can wear on my without eye primer PERIOD. Having oily eyelids SUCKS! I’m so glad a drugstore brand has come out with some, because shelling out for Stila or MUFE is a pain. Thanks for the swatches!

  • Quinctia

I was eyeing these up the other day…I think the next time I get a good CVS coupon, I’ll have to grab the purple. It’s just too duochromey looking to pass up. I love liquid liner, but I so so so prefer thin brush applicators, so I might come out of my experience with these applicators looking like a deranged clown rather than a normal person just wearing eyeliner.

  • Kiera Chesnut

Hey! I have wanted to try this type of eyeliner for a while. I also had a question! Does it stay? If it does, How long??? Also Is It waterproof??

  • lala

Ok i know im like three years behind haha but i just recently found this blog. Anywhoo..i jave been searching evrywhere for a decent colored eyeliner!! Hoping not to spend an arm and a leg for it either. I saw these but didnt pick one up. Im hesitant but running out of options. Anyone have a better suggestion? Please and thank u!
