Sephora Jasmine A Whole New World Eau de Parfum Spray Review

Sephora Jasmine A Whole New World Eau de Parfum Spray

Sephora’s Disney Jasmine Collection released this week to Beauty Insiders along with the new A Whole New World Eau De Parfum Spray.

Eep! There’s definitely a need to collect ‘em all vibe from these collections. If you have Cinderella’s So This is Love Perfume I imagine A Whole New World will make its way into your stash at some point. That is, of course, if you’re as diseased as I am and just need to collect them all!

If you think I’m bad with beauty you should see my with comic books and action figures. WORST!

I didn’t love Cinderella’s scent as I felt it was a little too mature and floral. Jasmine’s is quite soft and delicate and no sadly does not contain her namesake in the notes, sorry about that.

Take a look!

Sephora Jasmine Collection A Whole New World Eau de Parfum Spray

A Whole New World Eau de Parfume ($58) is available in a cut crystal bottle with a bejeweled topper or as a more inexpensive rollerball should you like to take the fragrance for a small spin prior to committing to the full size.

The bottle resembles that of Cinderella’s but done in Jasmine’s accent colors. The fragrance itself is a pretty shade of purple.

This is a soft feminine floral scent with rich woods and exotic florals. I was delighted with carnation as a note as this typically delivers a spiciness to a fragrance but sadly it plays a back note to the other more dominate floral notes such as Gardenia and Orange Blossom. I get a very strong Gardenia note with more sultry back notes of Vanilla, Sandalwood, Cedarwood, and the strength of amber which lends mystery to the scent.

On a whole the scent comes across as a very delicate floral with plenty of comforting warmth.

Neither Cinderella nor Jasmine’s fragrance made a huge impression on me on a whole to be honest as I’m not much for floral fragrances. However, if you enjoy soft floral fragrances that work in the day and just as easily into the evening you might enjoy A Whole New World.

I ordered this with a couple of other things from the collection yesterday. It felt so strange buying a perfume that I’ve never even smelled or tried on. I’m bit anxious about it. But like you, I’ve been bitten by the ‘gotta collect them all’ bug!

And I feel you on the whole comic books and action figures thing! Right now, I’ve got a shelf in my bedroom that’s cluttered with perfumes, body shimmers, and Spawn, Final Fantasy, and Akira action figures! What a mix!

So true. Thanks! I feel so much better about it now! :D

LOL! They should totally meet! I don’t know about you, but I pretty much geek out the same way with beauty as I do with my geeky stuff, so it seemed appropriate to have them together! :D

The bottle doesn’t really appeal to me, and it is so hard to judge a scent based on a description, so I guess I would have to try it blindfolded!

I didn’t really like the Cinderella scent so much either. I got a roller ball size of A Whole New World because I’m an orange blossom fiend. I agree it’s weird that a scent inspired by jasmine has no jasmine notes in it.

hehe true…but jasmine is always a hard note to get right so kinda sorta glad it wasn’t in this!?

I ordered the palette, I would love to get the perfume for my granddaughter, but by the time she’s old enough to use it, i’m afraid it’ll go bad (she’s 9 by the way).

I love love love love the scent of sandalwood, so I might give this a sniff when I’m in Sephora next. Not a huge fan of florals though!

Too bad the bottle isn’t more “Jasmine” styled….this makes me wonder if all the Princess perfumes will have the same shaped bottle. I was thinking of a more beautiful design…guess not.

The notes for this though….are actually right up my alley, might try it when it comes out.
