Sephora Pastel Pop Jumbo Glossy Lip Pencil Review & Swatches
Sephora has introduced their own line of Jumbo Glossy Lip Pencils with their new Pastel Pop Spring 2013 Collection. Best part about these is they are near to drugstore brand prices at ten bucks a piece.
Nice right?
They are sadly limited edition though and come in a smaller variety of shades (a mere three le sigh!) but you might want to pick them up before they disappear.
Jumbo Glossy Lip Pencils seem to be the trend of the moment with all brands jumping in and doing their own variation. Sephora’s version is a twist up design with a fine chunky tip for application. The nice part about Sephora’s formula is the shade I tried had a very nice pigmented finish with a creamy texture. Most of the pencils I’ve tried have more of balm-y texture with a sheerer finish.
Sephora’s version seems true to pencil color which translates very well onto lips. I tried out Glossy Orange and the color had a nice pop to it with a tiny hint of sparkle and a high sheen finish. It wore comfortably for three hours before needing a bit of a touch up heading into hour four. The texture resembles a lighter lipstick versus a lip balm pencil like say Clinique’s version or Tarte’s. They are most comparable to the texture of Covergirl’s new pencils but have a lighter feel and a more moisturizing texture.
I find these pencils terribly easy to travel with and apply super quick on the fly for touch ups on the go without unleashing lipstick and gloss as the pencil kinda acts as both. Color, glossy finish, one pencil, easy to apply on the go. And cheap!
After trying out Glossy Orange I went ahead and ordered the two other shades before they sold out to add to my growing empire of glossy jumbo tinted lip pencils.
Obviously, you can never have too many.
