Sephora The Palace Jewel Compact Mirror Review

Sephora The Palace Jewel Compact Mirror Sephora Jasmine Collection

The Palace Jewel Compact Mirror released with the Sephora Jasmine Collection could possibly be the pièce de résistance of the entire collection if Evil-bayer prices are anything to go on the Cinderella Mirror. Ouch! At $20, I highly suggest snagging this gorgeous compact mirror for yourself before it sells out and someone tries to sell it to you for one million dollars on Evil-bay at some point.

I can’t help you if it does sell out and you’re crying about not picking it up later down the road because I’m already in that boat after skipping out on Cinderella’s Mirror.

Here have a tissue if you missed out on it too.

And jump ahead to take a look at the Palace Jewel Compact Mirror.

Sephora The Palace Jewel Compact Mirror

Thie ornately designed compact mirror with brilliant, gold details was inspired by the Disney Princess Jasmine. This is a weight-y compact mirror done in touches of gold and rich jewel purple and pink tones.

The mirror clicks open to reveal a regular facial mirror as well as a magnified version located on the opposite side. The main side of the mirror is inscribed in gold lettering with the phrase, “Shut your eyes and take a chance” from the film.

The heavy gold piece is quite luxurious and might be something you’d find in a cave filled with treasure and the genie’s lamp!

For $20 it is well worth it’s price tag (and more)! I do wish they included some sort of velvet pouch to store it in though as I’m a little scared of it getting scratched up if I decide to tote it around. But really it’s a piece you’ll probably save for super special occasions like a wedding or special evening event.

The rest of the time I imagine it’ll sit prettily on your vanity with your other beauty treasures.

Unfortunately this serves as a reminder that I did not get my hands on the Cinderella Mirror.

Le sigh!

I do so wish I hadn’t gifted away the one I did purchase when the collection originally launched.

Oh well!

I look forward to more mirrors in the Sephora Disney Princess Collection.

Will you be indulging?

It’s available now at Sephora.com and launches in March in store.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. I tote around the Cinderella mirror in my purse and I have to say it’s held up well 🙂

  • Tammie

You took the words right out of my mouth!

BTW Great idea to bring it to a wedding, I am going to one IN Disneyland in 2 weeks what better mirror could I bring????

  • Audrey C.

I love it SO much but do I REALLY need another compact? Especially one that I won’t be using every day? Le sigh…

    • the Muse

I asked myself that a dozen times and proceeded to nod yes about 099.9% of them!

    • Pryanka

I felt that way about the Cinderella one & regretted it. I think it’s got such collectible quality that it’s a must-have for that reason alone

  • Daemonswolf

GAAAAH! You’re making me want it more you darling, gorgeous wonderful temptress! I’m trying to reeeessiiiiist!

  • blueraccoon

I keep my Cinderella mirror in my purse and it holds up really well; no scratches or anything, and I’m not all that careful with it. It is a touch stiff to open but I think that’s a good thing, means it won’t fall open and get scratched in my purse. I’m hoping the Jasmine mirror is the same quality, and this way I can keep one in my laptop bag. I think I am going to get all the mirrors, though, just because…yeah.

    • the Muse

I’m happy to hear it! was a little worried it would scratch if I tossed it in my bag ;-D

  • Snow

Hey Muse, I’m still crying about the Cinderella mirror I’ll be sure to get this one right away.

  • isabella

I thought it was a powder compact., so pretty
How about using a pouch from something else, chanel gives you black pouches as does Clarins?

    • the Muse

that would be cool if it was ;-D def can reuse one from chanel or clarins ;D great idea!

  • Dia

I just purchased this compact! Its so pretty I couldn’t help myself! I really do wish they come out with an Ariel collection soon! I’ll be all over that!

  • Jazz

I broke my no-buy and bought this today! Aladdin is one of my fave Disney movies and I jump to get anything that is my namesake.

  • Danielle

I actually just bought this mirror online today. I loved the first one so much I just had to have it too. I heard that the Little Mermaid “Ariel” might be our next princess.

      • Kimmwc03

Yeah, Ariel! The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast are my two fav Disney movies. I like Aladdin too.

  • katie

Ok after going back and forth on this I finally caved and bought the compact. I have the cinderella one (Sorry Muse not trying to brag!) and I was terrified that I would regret missing out on it if I didn’t buy it. Looks like I am starting a collection!

  • Miss_Silk

Yeah…you just reminded me again what I was thinking about when I purchased the Cinderella one. No protective pouch TT.

I can’t wait to get my hands on this~!

  • angela

Did you mention in another post that the mirror will be sold in the store? Do you think it will sell bout the first day? It is quite unique looking. I saw the Cinderella compact. I can’t believe people buy ten of them and then sell them on EBay. Jerks. Do you really think it’s worth the $20 price tag?

Thanks for great info Muse. 🙂

    • the Muse

hi angela the collection launches in store in March. I don’t have an exact date, I guess it depends on the store and when they put out their stock and such 🙂 mentioned in the review about the value of the mirror, hope this helps! 🙂

  • Pryanka

I GIFTED AWAY THE CINDERELLA COMPACT TOO T_T I’ll have that tissue please! I’ve snagged these mirrors already though – placed my order online, thank god for being VIB haha

  • Quinctia

Nah, if I shell out $20 for an ornate mirror, that sucker’s getting everyday use for sure!

  • Dana

I placed an order for the mirror compact & storylook eyeshadow palette yesterday morning (VIB) but Idk if I’ll actually put it in my purse…maybe I’ll put it in one of my Chanel pouches…
I passed on the Cinderella mirror & regret it 🙁

  • Sheri

Awww if I had the cinderella mirror I’d send it to you. I know how it is to really wish you would have aquired something and then it’s gone. If one happens my way it has your name on it.

  • Shelby

I haven’t been overly excited about either of the mirrors so far, they’re nice but not exactly my cup of tea. I’m hoping I’ll like one of the future ones. I’m hoping they come out with a Mulan collection, though she’s not a princess.

Do these come in a velvet pouch or anything? I’d hate for them to be clunking around in my purse.

  • Anna

I was so disappointed when I missed the Cinderella one. It sold out so fast! I was still figuring out what else I wanted to put in my online order. Anyways, I might have to pick up this one! Then again, the nail set looks nice…

  • Anna

No lie, I got the Cinderella one cause I was picturing how wonderful it would look in my future wedding photos ><

  • Debby

Hi ladies, the Jasmine compact is sold out on Sephora.com. I would make sure to stalk the stores in March as soon as they are available and grab it without hesitation. I can’t believe I already saw it on eBay listed for 50 bucks!

  • Joyce

Muse I never thought I would need a mirror compact but now I want this after reading your blog! And I wish I saw the Cinderella one earlier.

    • the Muse

aw joyce totally with ya I wish I got the cinderella one too! but hey at least we can get the jasmine one ;D

  • Gaby

Got it online on Friday when I saw your post… by Saturday was sold out online… good thing I saw your post on time!! =) Thank you!

  • Batool

Thanks for the review! I had been debating whether to spend the $20 but after reading this I immediately went and purchased! I agree, it’s totally worth it!

Also, did you notice the Arabic writing around the palace image? I haven’t seen it mentioned in many reviews. It was a nice little surprise for me since I have an Arab background and definitely made the compact even more worth it! 🙂

    • the Muse

oh gosh no I didn’t notice that batool! now I have to go look at my mirror again cool! ;-D

  • Daemonswolf

So I wandered into Sephora today and had a chat with the lovely ladies behind the counter. According to them they have the Jasmine stuff ready to go, but they’re waiting for the go ahead to put the product on the floor! I’m so excited! I couldn’t afford the compact with shipping, but I can buy it in stores!

  • Amy

Thanks for the great review, Muse! I bought mine in a Sephora store last weekend (I promise I bought only one!) and it is gorgeous. Thanks to Batool for pointing out the Arabic writing – that is so neat!

And the bar code on the back of the box shaped like the palace?
    I’m slain!

    • the Muse

LOL amy 😀 aw not two!? ;-D I’m so glad you got this! It’s such a lovely mirror!

  • Daemonswolf

I just bought mine today…well actually I bought two. Totally have plans to sell the second one in three or four months.

I mentioned to the Sephora rep how I’ve heard that they scratch easily and I wish they came with a bag of some sort. She felt my pain and handed me a drawstring fabric Sephora bag! 😀
