Tarte Call Of The Wild Palette Review & Swatches

Tarte Call Of The Wild Palette 1

Do yourself a flavor and grab a Tarte Call Of The Wild Amazonian Clay Shadow Collector’s Palette ($36) your next trip to Sephora. This eight pan eyeshadow palette contains some of the nicest nudes and naturals I’ve tried in a while. Heck I’ve been using it daily for a week straight with no end in sight…that’s saying something considering I rarely stick to using a single color palette everyday!

Take a peek!

Embracing a similiar shadow format they used in their Jewelry Box Palette from 2011, this palette contains essentials for creating three main looks or mix and match shades to create an endless array of looks.

Tarte Call Of The Wild Palette 3

Sometimes when I travel I find I just want to take EVERYTHING I own with me from my makeup collection but when you have an easy to travel palette like this, with great essentials, it really lightens the load.

The collection features creamy true to color mattes that apply and blend out like butter and a few subtle shimmery shades which work equally as well. I find the texture of the shades super silky, finely milled, and oh so easy to apply and blend out. I like how sheer and soft Tarte’s shadow formula is. It always manages to apply fuss free sans any fall out, blends out easily, and doesn’t go muddy plus wears very well throughout the day. I think if you’re a fan of Urban Decay or MAC you might not see the appeal of these shadows as they aren’t crazy pigmented however, they are an ideal pick for someone who wants a more subtly pigmented shadow formula especially if you have fine lines or aging eyes!

You get shades:

  • Meow
  • Jungle
  • Instinct
  • Wild
  • Primal
  • Roar
  • Call
  • Lynx

The shades are broken down into a trio of colors which allows you to contrast and define easily with matching shades (no headaches mixing and matching shades, the guess work is taken out of it thanks to the color pairings that Tarte has already set up for you).

I used the left hand side of the palette to create my look. This pairing is made up of a golden brown, a rich chocolatey brown, and a creamy beige. It’s simply a matter of adding a shade to your lid, crease, and highlight! Done! So simple to apply yet so stunning.

Even the navy blue pairing was completely easy to use and very flattering. Typically shades like this emphasize my dark circles but I had no problems sporting these colors.

Overall, Tarte’s Call Of The Wild Palette is a brilliant little creation that’s easy to use. It’s great for makeup amateurs as well as those with expert eyeshadow skill. The colors are beautiful, the shadow formula easy to work, what more could a girl want?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. You look smashing darlin! These are your colors. I LUUUURVE this palette! Got it from ulta last october as was an exclusive release back then. I think that’s why I was SO disappointed with the tarte holiday qvc set asfelt the eyeshadows weren’t on par withis gem! So glad you are enjoying! Btw, all my nyx spring goodies arrived. Lip butter gloss is total goodness!

  • Diana

Those are gorgeous!! Thank you for showing what they look like on! You look fabulous in these colors. I guess I’m going to have to go buy this!!! ( I need another eye palette like I need another hole in my head…. Sigh:/)

I caved! I bought it online today. I had a 20% off code and they were doing free shipping. The free shipping gets me every time!

  • Nat

Mmmm, Muse that looks awesome! I particularly like the dewy/shimmeriness just below your lower lashes. 😀

  • Ashley

Wow those colors are so pretty! I ended up getting the Tarte gel liner because Ulta is closer to my house than Sephora. I’ll definitely get the Bobbi Brown one next! Thanks for your suggestions!

  • Jen

I feel the same way about this one! You do a great job of explaining the formula too – sometimes people hear “sheer” and think it doesn’t have color, but no, it just means it’s really easy to blend and impossible to get a bad look!

  • Bethany

Love this palette…it looks so pretty! I have been wanting to try Tarte eyeshadow for some time so this looks like a great palette to start with!

  • Lauren

I have this palette. I am undecided about it. I have the Eye and Cheek palette and LOVE it. I also have the NeutralEyes volume I palette which I also like a lot. This one isn’t quite as pigmented it seems, though I do like it. I haven’t played with the Navy or grey, so I need to try those out.

  • Pam

I was excited to find a cooler toned neutral palette, but when I went to the Sephora website, their photo’s looked warmer than yours. I know how hard it is to photograph colors…which do you think is most accurate?

BTW, I have UD Nakeds 1 and it’s too warm for me.

    Thanks Miss Muse!

pam sephora uses stock images so I wouldn’t really go by there photos….I use flash in my images as natural lightening in my house is never around when one needs it so the colors are prob showing lighter also depends on your monitor. I’d say it is around the same warmth as UD Naked perhaps a smidge lighter. Hope this helps!? 🙂
