Thayers Witch Hazel Pads Review
You might remember I recommended Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner a month or so ago. Thayers Witch Hazel Pads are another fav of mine that I’d love to introduce you too!
I wish Thayers would consider putting some of their other blends into pad form as they travel easily if you’re heading on an extended holiday or vacation plus I find the pads terribly convenient compared to the larger bottles.
Sadly, they do have one quirk!
Alcohol.
Boo.
Surprisingly they don’t dry my skin out even though they contain a small amount of alcohol but some might be put off trying them due to it.
The vitamin E, witch hazel and other natural ingredients could tempt you though! Each pad is heavily saturated and has a very faint fresh scent. Although I love the witch hazel toners that Thayers has which do not contain alcohol I must admit I see more benefits with these that do have it.
For example after cleansing my face in the evening and using these as a follow up I’ll notice a good deal of left over dirt that my cleanser didn’t get on the pad. The alcohol seems to penetrate a bit deeper as I don’t get the same results using the say the Rose Petal Toner.
The pads are soft and plush-feeling and not abrasive in the least however, they easily de-flake skin thanks to the witch hazel in the mix and keep skin looking and feeling softer after use. They are particularly great after washing your face when it is still a little damp as they’ll aid in keeping moisture sealed in.
I experienced no tightness, dryness, or irritation using them. I do try to stick to the alcohol-free versions of the toners that Thayers offer but I definitely enjoy the squeak-y clean feeling these provide.
If your skin is terribly oily and you find dirt and oil get trapped into your pores and cleanser isn’t doing a great job getting your face as clean as you’d like I’d recommend following up with these pads.
Loves ’em!
Drugstore.com carries them or I get mine at Whole Paycheck for $8 (60 pads).
