Wet n Wild Take On the Day Eyeshadow Primer Review & Swatches
Hey! Guess what? Wet n Wild Take on the Day Eyeshadow Primer isn’t half bad! Introduced with the Wet n Wild Fergie Centerstage Collection this five dollar eyeshadow primer is a bit higher costing than Wet n Wild’s typical offerings but proves a worthy contender in the beauty budget world.
I was personally disappointed by most of the Wet n Wild Fergie Centerstage Collection. It was expensive for the brand and the quality just wasn’t there which is unusual as Wet n Wild does have some rather great offerings. After trying the lipstick and the eyeshadow quad I was a little skeptical about the shadow primer but I’m delighted with it.

Wet n Wild Take On the Day Eyeshadow Primer ($4.99) is available exclusively at Walgreens although at this point I am unsure if it is an LE product. Originally Walgreens had a massive display for the Centerstage Collection but it disappeared from my store. So I can’t confirm if this is LE, I’d like to say it isn’t and at some point it’ll be added to the general catalog when they revamp the wall display.
This comes in a 0.34 oz squeeze tube. The formula and texture should appeal to those who like and use Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I personally don’t like Too Faced’s formula however, Wet n Wild seems to have perfected it some.
This is a creamy almost hydrating formula but when applied it has a silicone-y texture. I find applying a dab between my fingers, rubbing them together, and proceeding to blend onto my lids is the best application technique. Don’t over do it as I think it is a tad too creamy so if you squeeze a big gob out and apply your eyes will likely end up oily looking and your shadow will crease. You need a little tiny dab, blended in, and you’ll be golden.
I find it creates a second-skin like layer onto lids which gives shadow something to adhere too. I can get a solid eight hours, crease and fade-proof free with this. At around hour nine it starts to show minor, very minor wear.
Overall, Wet n Wild Take on the Day Eyeshadow Primer is well worth checking out. I think it would work best for those with drier lids as oily ones might need something a touch more mattifying. I personally liked it and felt it was a great budget primer pick.
